After collecting Colorado postcards for 30+ years. The time has come for me to lighten my load and sell my collection. Many are rare, one-of-a-kind cards. I hope you enjoy them. This is a great real photo postcard of the business section of Brighton. Colorado. Brighton is located north of Denver in Adams County. It is near Fort Lupton, Lafayette, and Louisville. The photograph was published by Sanborn(No. N-88) The image shows many cars parked diagonally into the curb. Many signs can be read. On the left is the E. R. James& Co. Clothiers store and a W. U. Office. Signs for a drug store and a hotel can be seen on the right. The card is in very good condition with minor edge and corner wear(see scans) There is some very light smudging in the margins(see scans) This will make a nice addition for a person who collects Brighton, Adams County, ... moreand/or Colorado postcards. Note that the watermark on the photo was added digitally and is not on the actual card. I had to do this to protect you and me against cyber theft. The population was 34,400 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Washington County. Greenville was founded in 1824 by William W. Blanton, who filed for land from the United States government who granted him section four, township eighteen, range eight west. This plot is now most of downtown Greenville. The current city of Greenville is the third in the State to bear the name. The first, located down near Natchez, died aborning right after the American Revolution. The second is the parent city to the present one. It was named by its founders for General Nathanael Greene, beloved friend of George Washington, for whom the county was named.
