Up for sale is a wonderful old vintage late 1950's Insurance Agency Counter Advertising Display. Advertising display for the HARTFORD FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY of Hartford. Connecticut. This metal display was used on a counter to hold brochures for the Hartford Insurance Co. An example of how it was used is seen in the first photo. Brochure shown in 1st photo is not included in sale. This display measures a fairly large 28 in. wide x 13 in. tall x 10 in. deep. Has a few minor bends in metal on back side of display as seen in pic. 7. Front has some minor surface scratches but is in overall very good shape for its age. Painted Lettered Back-Glass for CHICAGO INSURANCE COMPANY Sign in 24"X19" Frame
A CHICAGO INSURANCE COMPANY sign. It has 2.5" tall gold plated letters painted on a peice of glass and then covered with black paint. It is in a cherry wood frame that measures 24.5" X 19.5" with a 1.5" border. The frame had been screwed to the wall previously with holes on both sides. The upper right corner has a circular stain(see photo) What made it and if it can be corrected. I have no idea, but I bet it could. Outside of that small sin, the sign looks very professional looking.

For your consideration a vintage 1950's Union Indemnity lighted sign. Fresh from a local estate. The sign is made of metal and has a curved glass lighted lens on the front. The glass is good with no cracks. It has a slot on the back so it may be wall hung. It lights up and works fine. It measures 15" in diameter by about 3 1/4" in depth. I would say it is from the 1950's. An excellent addition to any vintage advertising or antique collection or if you just want to own a really neat old sign. I am selling this item with no reserve. Beautiful Lucite County Fire Office Insurance agency sign. This probably hung at the front of a county fire insurance agency. In good condition but many scuffs and scratches. Some scratches on the figure's face. The female figure. The lion and the border are on painted on the lucite on the reverse side while all the lettering is done on the front. The Fire Association purchased it's rival, the Reliance Insurance Company of Philadelphia(founded 1841) In 1958 the Fire Association merged and consolidated all of their assets. Resources and liabilities under the name of Reliance Insurance Company. But kept the fire plug fire mark as their logo. Reliance Insurance Company ceased doing business in 2000. Ending a 183 year history. This Fire Mark plaque was issued by Reliance Insurance during the mid 1900's. Coinciding with their name change from the Fire Association to Reliance Insurance. It measures approximately 7.5" X 10.5" with the image of the fire plug and 1817 on it. The plaque is in good condition with only minor paint loss/chipping on the front. Vintage ROYAL GLOBE Insurance Group Brass Calendar Sign~21"x 13" Offered is a vintage Royal-Globe Insurance Group brass calendar sign. The sign is made of solid brass. With the black metal inserts for day/date/month being of some sort of tin or pressed metal. The sign measures 21" in height; and 13" in width. The street address printed on the signs is: 150 William Street New York, N.Y. which is The Royal Building, located in Manhattan,NYC. The bottom center of the sign has a metal bracket meant to hold the various day/date/and month metal inserts. There are a total of four inserts: Two indicate the day of the week(which covers all possiblities, because each insert has a day on the top& bottom and on the front and back, equaling 8, the 7 days plus, Holiday. The single insert for the Months, only will signify May/June/July/August, ... moreand the single insert for the date will only signify the 7th or 8th of the month. As you can see, the inserts are issued in a decreasing size from Day/Month/Date. Obviously, several are missing, so one CAN NOT change the signs insert to cover each month and date. There is a small hole. Located top centrally, which is used to hang the sign. The signs is made of fairly thick stock, so it's substantial. This is a vintage Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Company wall plaque/ sign. Came from an estate sale in Florida. The sign shows the Nationwide symbol in the center and is made of cast aluminum and weighs over a pound prior to packing. It measures approximately 11 and 3/8" x 9" and 1/4" thick. The back side has the following wording on the back. Designed by Harold F Hayden" 454 N. Seward Ave. Auburn, N.Y. What research I have done indicates that the designer, Mr Hayden was a long ago very successful Nationwide agent in the mid- 20th century late 50's, 60's and 70's and he passed away in 1992. The date on the front states April 14, 1934, which I understand to be the date the Fire Insurance portion of the company started with Farm Bureau Mutual which was later renamed Nationwide.
