Item: Old outdoor sign from the Central Illinois Light Company CILCO Wallace power station in Peoria Illinois. The sign was installed in the 1950's and originally spelled out Central Illinois Light Company. When the power plant was demolished in the 1990's. We bought the letters and rearranged them and reconfigured a couple to spell the name of our business. Illinois Antique Center in Downtown Peoria Illinois. They were originally lit with fluorescent bulbs but when we installed them we did not light them. You can easily ... moresee them from many blocks away. The pictures taken were from a block away. We also bought one of the world's largest Redd y-Kilowatt figures. That was also on the power plant. His head alone is over 11' tall and we think he was be tween 50 and 65' tall. We were only able to keep his head and a couple hands/feet intact as the rest of his body did not survive the removal. Reddy Kilowatt. At this time, is not for sale(unless you make a totally ridiculous offer that we cannot refuse) If you look in the blurry picture at the end you can see the letters and Reddy on the left side of the building. Condition: These letters are each about 6' tall and are made of thin alumin um sides and plastic fronts. I am guessing they are about 3-5' wide. They are mounted to the building as shown with a few anchors in each letter. The letters are still mounted on the side of our building. Waterfront Place, and will need to be removed by a n insured bonded sign company. Hardin Sign Company in Peoria took it down from the power plant and put it back up for us. The letters don't weigh a whole lot. Probably@25# each, but they are on the 4th floor. Access is available weather permit

Six Antique Cast Iron Gothic Outdoor Sign Letters
Super antique cast iron outdoor sign letters. Included are six letters in lower case Gothic style- i. T, c, h, e, r. The" t" is the largest at 14 1/4" tall and the" i" is the smallest at 10" tall. All are in good condition without cracks or breaks. They are painted red on the front side, and some paint is lost. There are bolt holes for mounting the letters. There is some light surface rust.

OUTDOOR SIGN LETTERS,ALUMINUM, BUSINESS, LOGO, 14" TALL, from a BANK! !
I have up for auction. Fifteen commercial building letters, that came off a bank. There is a town about 90 miles north of me called Presque Isle. They probably came from there at some time ago. These are the big ones. They are 14 inches tall, and 1 1/8 inch thick. They are made of die cast aluminum. They heve been plated with some kind of brass looking coating. They were attached by 3/16 screws Most of them were gone when I got these, but I got out the last screws so they would be easier to pack. The bad news is, that there are a fair amount of broke off screws in the letters. To utilize all the mounting holes, you would have to get the broken screws out, maybe by drilling and retapping the threads. Whomever removed these off the bank werent very careful about it! There are 15 letters all together, maybe you can use some of these for your ... moreown personal ideas. I know you are not going to open a Presque Isle bank! Questions are always welcome. Check my feedback for honest descriptions and good packing! These are fairly heavy, the box full will go around 55 lbs. This is an auction, the highest bidder gets it. Good luck MOE!

Scandia Restaurant Sunset Strip Historic Letters Outdoor Sign
AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A TRUE PIECE OF LOS ANGELES HISTORY! The original"Scandia" sign from the world-famous. Scandia Restaurant on the Sunset Strip. Founded by Bob Hansen. At one time, Scandia was considered among the greatest restaurants in the United States. It was a restaurant from the era of Perino's on Wilshire, Chasen's Restaurant on Beverly Boulevard, The Brown Derby and The Windsor. Frequented by celebrities. Public figures and elected officials, in its heyday Scandia was incredibly popular, and the restaurant by which all others were judged. Acquired by publisher Bob Peterson in the 1980's. The restaurant closed in 1989. It remained vacant and unoccupied until the early 1990's when two women entrepreneurs briefly re-opened the space and called it"Legacy Restaurant. It was at that ... moretime I acquired these original letters. They are all there with the exception of the"i, and the heart-shape that was used to dot the"i. These are the original letters. Framed in sheet metal with plastic lettering. The restaurant was in many films and photographs, and for Angelenos of a certain vintage, a reminder of many happy times. This is for the serious collector of Los Angeles historic ephemera- the real deal- and truly priceless. I had always planned to restore it; and if no on buys it I will likely end up doing that. But in the meantime. For sale here and a chance for someone to own the Scandia sign! Shipping can be arranged but given the size of the items. It should optimally be picked up personally.
