WW1 thrift stamp sign. beautiful condition) What you are bidding on is a original piece of American history. Good near mint condition with no paint missing. Some remnants of tape on reverse side could easily be cleaned off. The measurements are 19 3/4" x 27 3/4" A brief history of the sign: We discovered this item while rehabbing a old store front in Pennsylvania on June 2013. It was burred under a lot of stored items. We wiped away the dust using a dry cloth and that is all the cleaning we have done. The paint is in good condition shows very well. It is belived to have been on the property since WW1 by the original owner of the property who owned the property since 1970. He stated that he had never cleared out the storage area in witch we found it. Farm Auction Announcement Original early 1900s broadside announcement for a farm and livestock auction. Nice size and two colors! Awesome subject matter and picture of a cow. Measures 24" x 18" Printed by the Monroe Evening News in Wisconsin. Auction held in Pearle City. Illinois. Great broadside deserves a frame and a special place in someone's collection or on the wall. Roseland Ballroom NYC Original Vintage Coat Room Sign from auction
This sign is a piece of history from Roseland Ballroom and concert venue. It is. I believe, one of only seven coat room signs in existence. I purchased this at the Roseland Ballroom auction after it closed in April. This sign is 36" wide x 22" high x 1/2" deep. It is made of what appears to be thick milk glass with metal around it. The attached brackets make the sign stand out approx. 7 1/2" from the where it is attached. It weighs about 9 lbs. The first photo you see is shot with window light coming through to show that the sign is meant to be lit from behind. The sign is old. The glass in great shape. It seems they painted over the sign whenever they wanted rather sloppily. Though I'm sure it could be cleaned up and repainted to look great. I shot a quick photo while the signs were still mounted,reflected in a mirror, ... morewhich shows how they appeared at Roseland. The closeup at the single window is a different sign, not the one up for auction, but gives you a feel for how they appeared at Roseland.
