Dimensions are 18" by 12" Condition is fair to good. With some edge wear, 7 mounting holes, a line of small holes down the left side and a few other small holes. My best guesstimate as to actual age is a 1930’s to 1950’s item. Great look for insurance/ banking/ investing signage for your desk. Advertising promotional piece for the Maryland Casualty Company– Celluloid type covering over the metal showing all of the various insurance types and policies available when this piece was manufactured. It is a quite heavy and the top turns a bit like it should open up into something. But I cannot figure out how to open it. It could be that it does not open. But the top does twist. FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A nice cast iron and heavy fire marker! This piece is not an original one. But one that is about 30 years old. It is simply a decorative piece. This style mark was used by Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore as far back as 1835. It features the hand operated pumper cart as its mark. Fire marks were placed on the exterior of buildings and were intended to discourage arsons About 13 ¼” tall to the top of the tab hanger. 11 ¾” wide. Made of cast iron. Weighs nearly 8 pounds.
