For sale is a wonderful relic of typeset printing and the hot lead system of setting type. This is the LUDLOW MANUAL OF INSTRUCTIONS. 11th Edition, made by the Ludlow Typograph Co. Chicago. I can't find anything which points to a specific date in this booklet, but I can tell it is at least pre-1963, because none of the addresses listed for the company show a zip code. I'm guessing this manual is probably at least a few decades older than zip codes. This is a paperback book, about 5.5" x 9" 151 pages. Heavy, coated paper. MANY photos and diagrams, all labeling machine parts for the Ludlow machine. There is lots of information available on Wiki about this typesetting system; Ludlow machines seem to have been mostly used for printing large type, especially headlines.
