U.S. Wood case and dial with original early hand blown thin glass. Case measures 20" in diameter x 3 1/2" deep. Spring is good and not over wound. I can get it to run for a couple minutes but the movement needs a good cleaning and oiling, missing the two hands and the pendulum, case has some wear but is in remarkably good condition for over 160 years old some nicks and paint loss no cracks or breaks, see pictures. Old Antique Primitive 5 Ft. Wall Mount Coat Hook Rail w/ 14 Cast Iron Coat Hooks
Here's an old or antique primitive wall mount coat hook rail we received from an an old farm here in NH recently. This one is about 62 inches long or just over 5 ft in length. It has 14 antique cast iron coat hooks of a relatively simple style attached as shown in the photos. The wood rail has some pencil markings. Screw holes, etc acquired over the years from the time it was made. I'd guess it to be from the late 1800's to very early 1900's. One of the old long square nails used to mount it was with it and is shown in one of a pictures. In examining the rail itself there were two areas where wood fragments have been lost over time. One is near the center of the rail along the bottom edge and we show this in 2 photos. The other is on the left end and we who this in 2 photos as well. Don't think they are detractive but ... moreshould be mentioned. Nice old decorative item overall. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this wood rail with 14 coat hooks low so enjoy the auction. When packed we'll use USPS Parcel Select service as the lowest cost postal option available to the buyer. Antique Arts& Crafts Era Wood Wall Mount Store Display Cabinet Thread Display I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! This one is very very cool. It's a farm auction find that no one could identify for me. But the general consensus(and I agree) is that it was more than likely a store thread spool display piece. Made of solid wood, it has a tiger oak decorative veneer that shows some wear and egdge shipping. If you like rustic, the cabinet is for you- if you are looking for a project, it would be a beauty to restore also. The cabinet measures 25 1/2" wide at the top, 22" ... morewide at the body, has 6 shelves that are 18 1/2" by 2 1/2" deep, stands 23 1.2" tall, 5 1/2" deep at the top and 3 1/2" deep at the body. It weighs 14 3/4 lbs. The shelves are rounded to hold rounded items(like spools) and you can see that there's 7, a little over) 2" wide spaces on each shelf- you can see the wood is a little lighter between each one- they are not physically separated, the shelf is rounded and smooth all the way across. There are numbers, 1-6 stenciled in what looks like gold with a black rim, starting 1 at the back of the bottom shelf and going up to 6 at the back of the top shelf- I have no idea what they represented, and there's no other markings or identification on the piece. The cabinet is unfinised at the top- making it appear as if it attached to something from above, or possibly was built in? The bottom is finished, but you can also see the heads of the hardware attaching the sides, so I do believe it was not meant for display- the cabinet does stand well on its own as the bottom is flat. Ok this may be hard to visualize but the ergotron articulated arm in the middle allows you to mount a 20 inch monitor. A keyboard, a mouse and a Dell OptiPlex or similar computer on the wall.
