Original Vintage WW2 Era Bar Cocktail Lounge Bistro Nightclub Restaurant Napkins
General Info: My father was not a drunk! Nor was he even an alcoholic; it's just that he never met a bottle he didn't like. So. As a young man before the war, he decided to visit every bar, cocktail lounge, nightclub, restaurant(with a liquor license) bistro, honky-tonk, and dive between San Francisco and Los Angeles(as well as anywhere else he happened to go) and collect a paper napkin from each and every one. Then came World War 2 and my mother, so he gave up drinking completely; until my little brother was born just after the war(my little brother would cause anyone to start drinking! I recently discovered this collection of over 300 napkins in one of his old army footlockers; almost all are extremely well preserved, and look as they did those 65-75 odd years ago. There are some with advertising for the place itself, some with ... moreanimals(including pink elephants) some risqué and naughty, some humorous, some political, some just with designs, and some just plain weird(and many have additional printing on the back) Most are folded in fourths(just as he got them) and about 4.5" square. I know absolutely NOTHING about them, and have separated them into general categories, and grouped them into lots of 4 each(for no particular reason except that is how many would fit on my scanner) I will try to point out any flaws, and am open to any questions or suggestions, as well as offers for the entire collection.
