Super Rare Motorola CMOS Prototype of the famous 68705 series microcontrollers This microcontroller was the first in the 1468705(68705) microcontroller family and was so new it was featured in an article in Electronics magazine in the late 70's. This microcontroller was only issued as a limited series to major corporations with a special mask set and was the first to feature self programming from an external eprom with it's built in programming algorithm allowing it to read a 2716 eprom and transfer the program into itself. Only about 5000 were produced and are imprinted with the word"PROTOTYPE" and I was lucky enough to be on a development team that received samples from Motorola. I used them when developing the electronics for the Escort and Passport radar detectors from Cincinnati Microwave. This chip is simply unavailable ... moreperiod as they were used for development and were used up. I've checked and there are no other examples of this chip anywhere. I however kept samples for my own use. I'm making them available for the first time. They are extremely collectable as they are ceramic. Gold and have a quartz window that allows complete viewing of the microcontroller's surface with appropriate magnification. They were the first to have a microamp standby mode and well, they were a joy to work with. The baud rate generator was locked allowing for easier programming. Though they are rare I'm selling some to get them into the hands of serious collectors. The chips are fully functional and have only had one erase cycle to remove our proprietary software. I know that the gold value is more than I'm asking but I'd like to see like minded geeks get them instead. I will be putting other unique chips here but these are real treasures. They deserve a good home. And I know you are out there. I feel that the price I'm starting at is reasonable since there are probably only these examples left in the world. RF Power Meter Module removed from defunct(Spirent TAS5600) RF testset. I believe it originally measured RF power from modulated signal generators that generated WCDMA cellular signals as well as interfering signals in the 700MHz– 2.5GHz frequency range so the instrument could output calibrated signal levels. Module contains analog and digital(CPU) circuitry as well as a Gigatronics P/N# 29606C power sensor module. Item measures approximately 7” long(incl. connectors) X 4” Wide X 2” Thick.
