Willem Programmer PCB45 for EPROM chip not working - For Repair or Parts PCB45C
Willem PCB45 EPROM Programmer- NOT WORKING Some months back I purchased this board that was listed as"untested" hoping to program a few 27C080 EPROMs on the cheap. However. I couldn't get it working. It does power up(LEDs light up, etc. and gives the"Hardware Present" message, but, no success reading or writing using the software version meant for this board. At best, by setting the two jumpers on the board to PCB3 and using the older software it was able to read the 27C080s, but any attempt to program gives an error that the first byte written doesn't match the buffer. Further investigation revealed the jumpers for JP6 and JP7 in the manual for VPP 12.5v didn't match the default settings picture seen on the previous page and how they're set on similar Willem boards. No luck after changing the jumpers. ... moreAdditionally. Some corrosion is present near said jumpers by a pair of resistors and cap, see third pic and last pic. A leaking cap? Probably not a coincidence. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem. Hopefully you can figure it out and return it to working order(if you do, please send a message, I'm very curious to what the problem is after spending the time trying to get it up and running) No other chips were tested other than 27C080s; it's unknown whether other types of chips work or not. Included in this listing is the PCB. Along with the power adapter, computer printed PDF manual and CD(not pictured) originally sent to me with the board. What's missing is a parallel port cable, it's required, you'll need to supply your own for the setup. Again.
