I opened up the radio and cleaned the volume/bass/treble.BFO, ANT Trim, and AM RF Gain, pots with Caig DeoxIT D5(which I have been using on equipment in my music studio for years) However. This made little difference, except the volume knob no longer produced static when turned! I did not feel comfortable totally disassembling the radio as I am not truly competent enough to do so. Looking closely. I discovered I could easily reach ... morethe band selector switch and shot some DeoxIT into it and worked the switch. This was the magic bullet. The FM band worked beautifully. Over the course of a week. Every single time I turned on the radio, the FM band came in clear as bell and with all the volume you would expect. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY: The manual states an antenna with ground system is necessary for reception for SW 2-8. I do not have this connection available. Additionally. I cannot get the MW or SW1 to pull anything in. The meter shows no signal. So I am not sure whether this is a problem with the radio, or there is just nothing I am able to pull in with my speaker wire antenna, if it might be my(lack of) understanding of the radio's operation, or the need of a proper antenna. SportDog In ground Fence System RF-1045 w/receiver collar
This is a used unit. It comes with all that is show including a collar and a roll of heavy duty wire(better than the standard wire that originally came with it. We used this for keeping goats in. If you know how hard it is to keep goats in you know how well this had to work. Goats are now gone so hopefully this unit will find another owner. Collar and unit has been tested to work. I clicked on a yellow line and cw started coming through my speakers, I was impressed. I built the preamp and installed it in between the radio and antenna; I was very impressed with the amount of signals appearing on the screen. I like Ten-Tec. They use good quality parts and have a nice selection of project boxes at a very good price. I don’t know about db gain. I do know what I see. Whether you might consider bidding on this one or not, I do recommend putting one of these together if you have a SDR radio. It is only for a receiver, if you transmit through it you will see smoke. This is a vintage Heathkit model# SG-6 RF Signal Generator. I received it as part of a large lot of used Amateur Radio and electronic test equipment. It appears to be in good condition and work okay. But because of its age it is sold as-is- it may need recalibration or other maintenance performed. It has scuffs and scratches typical for a unit of this vintage. The only testing I did was to select some frequencies on my ICOM IC-761 HF/Shortwave Receiver, and I was able to hear the output of this signal generator on the Receiver, as I turned the SG-6's frequency dial to match that of the HF Receiver. The SG-6 Signal Generator has a built-in audio tone generator. And it will also accept an external tone or modulation source, or provide output of the internal tone generator for use with other test equipment. Coarse and fine adjustments are ... moreavailable for the RF output signal, and variable level control for the internal tone generator. There are five selectable frequency ranges from 160 kHz to 50 MHz(with calibrated harmonics to 150 MHz. All of the switches and controls move freely. Vintage Panasonic RF-2600 Multi-Band Short Wave Receiver AM FM SW World
Up for sale is a vintage Panasonic multi-band radio. Model RF-2600. The item works great on FM, but I get no stations in using the AM band. When checking the other SW bands, I get the unit trying to tune-in to different spots(unlike AM which I get nothing but background static) All the controls of the unit have been cleaned with Caig DeoxIT. While inside I found some flaws or evidence that someone else had been inside. The first clue was non-factory or matching screws holding the back of the cabinet on. Second was the front tuning knob was epoxied on and the same type of epoxy was used to reinforce(inside) a crack in the top right of the cabinet(see picture) Third was a change of dial lamp and the coiled wire going to the AM external antenna lug was unwound.
