World War II Japanese Navy B-3a Tail Arming Device for 500Kg Air Dropped Ordnance From Japanese Naval Aircraft. Measures: 7& 1/8 inches tall x 5& 1/8 inches at widest point(armature end to armature end) This is a relic of World War II. Not a weapon and cannot be made into one. Threaded end has interrupted thread. Much like breech loading artillery weapons have which allows quick assembly or removal. The Allies and Axis both used similar safety devices that had several safety features built in so that even after removing cotter pins that prevented the propeller from spinning and the two large armatures from detonating motion. It was not until dropping through the air a safe distance from the aircraft that the propeller would spin completely off its threaded shaft thus"arming" the set of armatures whose motion now can cause ... moredetonation. Device components have the Imperial Japanese Navy Anchor symbol on individual pieces(see photos& also has symbol on both armatures-not pictured) and numeral'86' on main body. I used this clamp with a pole for a Mini and Thunderbolt monitor suspended from the ceiling over a counter. It worked great. I've moved my computer to a desk now so I'm converting the arm to wall mount. All the pole parts besides the arm are for sale. See my other auctions for the rest of the items. They each have separate boxes and a tube and are sort of heavy so there's not a giant advantage to combining shipping. This mounts on a 1 1/2" pole. Pictures show it assembled since I was using it.
