This set came out of a courthouse in the New Hampshire mountains, and they were refinished five or six years back. The courthouse sold them because a couple of them have split seats, and they were afraid the courthouse would get sued if someone ended up with a splinter in the wrong place, if you know what I mean. Their loss is our gain: Can you imagine putting these around a conference table? How about inside a home theater or a large dining room table? The chairs are finished in a medium oak stain, and have seven slats in the back that curve like a popsicle stick. The arms are all steamed ash bent oak, as shown in the pictures, with multi-turned spindles supporting them and the original iron rod that keeps the arm tight at all times. The base has multiple turned legs, multiple turned spindles across the front as cross stretchers, and the original metal cross bracing, which we used to take out before selling the item in the old days, but which people now seem to like. Where the bed folds, was a piece of fabric I forgot to remove before the picture. The machine bed is free of defects and shinny. I added new pictures of the base. You can see the reflection of my ceiling fan in the machines base paint finish. I included a picture of the bobbin case area. These are the more RARE version of the famous Singer Featherweight Series of machines. She comes with original carrying box in good condition. With a few scuff marks on outside, some spots of wear inside the lid. BOTH case latches work properly. Attachments as seen in photo. Straight stitch foot is installed on the machine Works and sews perfectly. A heavily and tastefully carved Louis XV Wingback Antique Arm Chair of the Rococo Revival period. This is a piece that was built to last with strong and heavy construction throughout. The crest is an ornate and complicated carving of flowing ribbon tied in a double-bow and interlaced with flowers that sprout over and along the frame, likewise carved carefully with a large twisted rope molding lined by a small twisted rope border. The arms flow down into curved handholds, the arm supports terminating in the frame with acanthus leaves sprouting up along the edges. The arm chairs have a country french straight leg design covered in gold fabric. Unfortunatley the fabric is damaged on one chair and stained on both. The chairs are very sturdy structually. They are a good size. The measurements are 34" high and 22" wide at the back, 28" wide and 21" deep on the seat, 17 1/2" high to the top of theremovable cusion and 10 1/2" high from the floor to the top of the frame.
