This vintage cast iron valve has the following imprinted on it: KT Valve No. 8A. Los Angeles, Pat. June 21, 1904 and August 1, 1911. It has several pieces hooked together: 1) Round(7 ½ inches) mechanism cover with two rectangular pieces sticking out. 2) Round(6 ½ inches) with writing) that goes on top of the cover, 3) Handle that turns the screw that opens/closes the cover, 4) on the bottom is a curved piece that holds the screw in place. The handle/screw still turns. This piece shows much wear and rust but is still a unique piece of history. It weighs 4 1/2 pounds without packaging. I do not know the purpose of this valve but it could have been for water or steam flow. Please review photos for design/wording/condition.
