The Alcotec de-coiler is used to send Aluminum welding wire to a standard Miller or Lincoln wire feeder mounted to a robotic manipulator. Due to the fact that Aluminum is so soft it is usually difficult for a wire feeder to get a good grip on the wire. If you want to feed Aluminum wire typically a push-pull feeder is used. However; the other method of dispensing wire is to employ a de-coiler. Simply put, the unit dispenses the wire out at high speed with no tension on it, you connect this liner to the inlet of the wire feed motor drive roll assembly, and now the wire feed unit has to do is push the wire 3 or 4 feed to the welding gun. Inside the unit is a torque motor that is pushing out the wire at speeds up to 750 inches a minute. When this wire meets the drive-rolls it is either sped up or slowed down, the torque motor will allow its speed ... moreto be altered without any damage to the motor. In addition the motor can be completely stalled and it still just fine. The unit operates on simple 115 volts A.C. If you noticed the Yellow Crouse-Hinse plug on the rear of the unit that is the power inlet, low wire alarm, Torque motor on/off interface point. S/n is AC 600938.230/440 volt@ 3Ph.This has a LN-7 wire feeder on it. and i believe this will do TIG.the feeder is missing the ground cable, and there is NO MIG gun, it was being used as a stick machine when i bough it. This is a Miller CP 250 TS MIG Welder with a Miller 10A wire feeder. It has a Tweco 20 foot gun and about 12 feet of cables from the feeder to the machine so you can set the wire feeder up to 12 feet from the machine and with the extra long gun weld up to 30 feet away from the power source. Also comes with the gas regulator and hose and ground cable. Input is 220/440 3 phase. Output is 250 amps 100% duty cycle. It is an older machine so it has all copper coils and it welds really nice. If you have 3 phase power in your shop you can't beat these machines for mig welding. They don't overheat and you can get a really nice weld all day long if need be. They are also rugged and reliable. Came out of a truck repair shop so it wasn't used daily, just as needed for repairs. This sets on a Miller cart with shelf for gas bottles in the ... moreback.
