Motor runs but makes all kinds of noise. bearings probably no good. No returns. Item is described as'not working' Many of these Dumore Corp sensitive drill presses were made in the 1960's. and are 50 plus years old. Dumore does not have parts for them and fixing a motor of this age is extremely difficult if not impossible to do. Replacing the motor assembly with a'modern' Dumore motor would give someone a drill press that would be extremely close to any'new Dumore' press. and far superior to any of the'older' 40-50 year old presses which ... moreare being sold on the internet. The high quality standards of Dumore motors was so motors could last DECADES. not Centuries. and a tip to the wise. would be. to be sure to purchase a dumore motor made in recent times. as they are great motors. And the newer motors are of coarse rebuildable and have replacement parts. The stand portion of this unit seems to be in good condition. and the table goes up and down. As it should. Attached to the motor is the Jacobs chuck assembly and a chuck key is included. I can not guarantee anything about this drill press. other than'it does not work' and is in need of repair. For sale is a early Delta 14" drill press with the first generation DP 220 head casting. It is referred to as the No. 970. Triple Duty Drill Press, in the 1933 thru 1936 catalogs. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants a classic drill press for their shop and is willing to spend the time to fix it up. I have cleaned a lot of the rust off, replaced the belt, and oiled things up so the drill is operational. It is a 4-speed press with spindle speeds of 590, 1275, 2450 and 5000 RPM. The drill press has its original Delta 1/3 HP motor which is unusual to find in working condition.
