The kiln is heated to temperatures of up to 1,200 F by electrical elements situated in an outer shell. The kiln drum is constructed of 316 stainless steel and comes with feed and discharge bridging, high efficiency seals, accelerator feed and discharge flights, internal flighting, trunnions, direct pinion hear drive with 0 to 10 rpm variable speed drive system. The system comes complete with a vapor recovery system suitable for recovering hydrocarbons or other valuable organics from feed. The vapor recovery can be adjusted to suit specific processes. This system is ideal for thermal desorption, soil remediation, pyrolysis(tires, charcoal, activated carbon etc. ... morecalcining, or drying projects. PROCESS DESCRIPTION: Material is fed to a live bottom feed hopper mounted on a pug-mill. From the pug-mill. Material is transferred to the feed auger via a transfer auger. The indirect heated rotary kiln has four independently controlled heat zones; the operating temperature of the drum is up to 1,200 F. The rotary kiln is housed in insulated outer shell with electrical elements used to transfer heat to rotary drum. The kiln operates in an oxygen deficient and under a slight negative atmosphere; vapors from the contaminated soil are pulled out of the system in a counter current direction to the material flow. The treated, dried material is discharged to a water-cooled discharge auger.
