Vintage pre 1970s Aluminum PANORAMA Hard Hat - Made in England - Cotton Straps
I bought this hard hat about 35 years ago at an auction in New Zealand. I bought it because I collected hats at the time and it caught my eye. My bid won it. And it has remained in a trunk for all these years. I unpacked it today, and although I still like it, I have accumulated way to many things since my traveling days. So. Here it is. I did a search on Ebay, I see there are a number of this style of hard hat available. I cannot find anything on the maker of this particular hat. Panorama" is the stamp under the brim, under that is"Made In England" The inside webbing is cotton, no plastic anywhere on this hard hat. The chin strap has a metal buckle that is a bit rusty, could use a good wire brushing. The hat has not been worn to the best of my knowledge. I have up for auction today one vintage JACKSON PRODUCTS SAFETY HAT(TYPE SH-1) that I think dates back to the 1960s on the side of the helmet is a sticker that reads Always Safety 67 NCSA National Crushed Stone Association. Plus it has the name of R. White on the helmet. This helmet is yellow(the pics make it look more to the white side but its a yellow helmet) There are some Dings and nicks in the brim of this helmet from being used. Plus a hole has been punched in the back of the brim that a wire has been put through to hang the helmet up. The internal straps seems to be in good condition. The helmet shows wear from being used. Vintage Jackson Products Hand Painted Hard Hat Playboy Bunny Industrial Folk Art Every Memorial Day weekend. I go to a dealer in Indiana to treasure hunt, and I love my pickings this year. Lots of really interesting items this week- antiques and unique for sure! I’m also still listing new items from my last trip to the flea market, so there’s definitely something for everyone! Yes. I'm calling it industrial folk art in my title, but that was certainly not the former owner's intention- this beauty was decorated to wear to work! It's a vintage hard hat that I believe is made from fiberglass. It's marked on the inside as being made by the Jackson Products Company, and along the rim of the inside, Quality Jackson Products. I cannot find a size, but I can tell you it's not freakishly large nor freakishly small- it will go on ... moremy average size woman's head with a little wiggle room(not snug) The color is the original black and, as you can see, it has hand painted details in white, black and red. There is the logo of the Playboy bunny on either side- both showing wear, but one much more than the other. On the back, are the initials"K. B. and on the front, there is a small round bullseye inside of a diamond. The raised ribs of the hat top were painted with much of it worn off on the ribs that go down the back, and every rivot along the bottom rim is painted white with a red dot in the center. There's a green material lining/boder(I'm sure it has a name, just don't know what it is! on the inside, and three grey straps that are held together by a light rope. I'm guessing that the rope is not original, but it does the trick! The hat measures 11" long in total brim to back, by 8 1/4" wide side to side and is 5 1/2" tall. The cloth rim on the inside measures 8" by 6 1/2. It weighs 1 lb. The material on the inside shows wear and fraying at the edges, and the green color is pretty much gone in spots, like the edges. The helmet was a fresh estate item and I did not clean it. Origional webbing is intact on the interior and the original owner has his name and profession tagged. The helmet was issued as part of the Engineering Division of Milwaukee Wisconsin. The helmet has two Instructor First Aid American Red Cross stickers on the front and back and the American Red Cross Volunteer circular decal on the sides. Worn by a Local# 1 member and the sticker BABE was running for Business Agent. MSA quick release bridge belt in great condition with two MSA bolt bags with leather loops(one loop is torn but can be repaired. This set up is from the early 70s and is still in useable condition. Bethlehem Steel I believe went out of business in 1984. This is a visitors hard hat but still a really rare find.

Aluminum hard hats were eventually replaced with impact resistant plastic or fiberglass. These are now collector's items. This one us in very good worn condition. There are several dings and scrapes. The headgear foam lining is deteriorated and flaking small pieces of foam. This hard hat us for display only. Please look at all photos.

1960's Vintage Steel Hard Hat Baseball Cap Style Phillips 66 Oil Rigs Wildcatter
Very Cool 60's vintage hard hat Up For Bids. This one has been used but is still in Great Shape. Because when this was made things lasted! It measures 11& 3/4" from the end of the bill to the back, and is around 5& 1/2" tall. It has a real leather band inside for comfort and support. I would guess it's around a size 7 or a little larger, inside band can be let out some. Look over the pics and please ask any questions you may have before bidding.
