I know that the chair is completely user serviceable but I honestly do not want to tackle it myself. This is a great deal for someone who does not want to pay full price and fix this up themselves. The only problem with this chair is the left 2 levers what make the chair recline, as you can see in the close up of the photo the metal wire is pulled out and pulling the lever simply does not pull the wire. The rest of the features of the chair work perfect and when raising and lowering the chair it is smooth and firm. Chair rolls perfectly and spins around perfectly smooth as well. The hand rest are in great shape with no scuffing. The lumbar support raises up and down just fine. the mesh is all in great condition with no rips etc. perfectly comfortable. Short Story: Here we're offering a small group of dotcom era Aeron chairs that have been largely neglected- until we recently gave them a little TLC. These are"Basic Aerons" explanation to follow- and were relegated to board/waiting-room occasional use for several years: Eventually. They were"robbed" of some of their good parts- so that other chairs could prosper) and put into storage. As part of a clean up and recycle effort: We have replaced the seats and backs. Etc as needed, and installed New pneumatic lift cylinders. Then swapped around some arm cushions. And polished and touched-up as needed. They look great. Are fully functional, tested and guaranteed; and they're ready to roll another 15 years. The BASIC AERON is made of the same parts used in the"FULLY ADJUSTABLE" model. But a couple parts are"not ... moreincluded" and a few features are disabled. Specifically: Height control is the same. Lumbar support(not included) can be added to the back which is the same. Same seat. Same base and wheels. Tilt tension: the knob on the right is present in both models: it tensions the Big Spring which adjusts for the weight of the user and how much force is required to lean back in the chair. The Tilt LOCK is missing. However: this is the mechanism that Stops you from leaning back and keeps you upright regardless of posture or effort. It's a cable operated wedge that blocks the chair from tilting: In the Basic Chair the wedge and gears are there. But the cable and lever are omitted. The Arm support is Not adjustable on the Basic Aeron: the arms are fixed in the middle position. They can be moved with some effort and tools. But not like the Fully Adjustable which can be adjusted quickly with hand operated controls. The arms do not"splay" in three positions as the fully adjustable. Otherwise. It sits the same and It looks the Same.

Vintage Red 1950's Industrial Steel Adjustable Office Chair
Offered is an original Steelcase industrial office chair that is in good condition! There is a split on the seat of the chair. And the legs show wear and tear. Overall it's in good shape and as solid as the day it was manufactured. This chair is made of heavy duty steel and vinyl cushion and back. The arms are made of steel with a rubber coating. This chair has a steel base with 4 rubber wheels. It swivels and has a lower back support that reclines with your weight. There is a thin 2 3/4" split on the rubber on the seat. The paint is nicked here and there and has edge wear. There may be a few light rust spots here and there on the metal. All in all though, this chair is in great condition. These chairs were used by a foot press operator for 8-10 hours a day. Legs are made of approx 1" angle steel and wrapped at the bottom with 7/8" pressed. Bent and welded steel. Each chair has fantastic patina and will be very similar in wear and age to the one pictured. Measures approx. 18" at the seat and 31" at the top of the back. The seat is approx. 14" square and has a press board cover over steel with holes in both for"ventilation" When I brought it into the office.
