I buy vintage linens at local estate auctions to pass them along to you. A recent auction brought a bonanza of lovely vintage linens. This is the most amazing set of tablecloth and napkins! It is a large tablecloth and 10 matching napkins all made of tissue linen. Quite sheer, and decorated with elaborate embroidery and pulled-thread work lace. The tablecloth measures 81" long by 60" wide; it is composed of a central piece 42" long and 22" wide, with decorative seaming of panels that are all about 22" wide. Don't worry about seam lines: they look like part of the design. At each corner there is an emblem of a large rose above a lacy pattern composed of pulled-thread work, and these are repeated along the long edges. The center has two huge rose embroideries, each measuring 10" long! I included a photo of ... moremy hand next to one of them so you could see the scale. The embroidery is very raised and three-dimensional. The embroidery and lace patterns are continuous along the sides for 36" straight! The napkins each measure 14" square, and each has one corner with the same embroidery and pulled-thread lace. The napkins are shown in the last three photos, while the other photos show the tablecloth. Please use the zoom function to appreciate the fine details. I have laundered and pressed these and found the fabric to be in good condition. These are in wonderful condition. With no problems at all! It's amazing that they have survived intact. MATSON TISSUE BOX GOLD GILT FILIGREE Stylebuilt BIRDS& FLORAL Rectangular Box This wonderful vintage metal tissue box is an estate find from the 1960-70's era made in a gold-tone metal with heavy bird& floral decor on the lid of the box and filigree metal around the outside of the box. Made by"Matson- Stylebuilt" with ormolu style decor. This is the rectangular-style box. Measures 10-3/8" X 5" and is 2-3/4" high, hinged on one side with a gold-color lining on the bottom, weighs slightly more than 1# In EXCELLENT CONDITION, appears to have only been used for display purposes on a vanity table, no dings or dents and there is no tarnishing, rubbing or scratching on the metal gold-tone finish.
