This is a vintage signed 925 sterling silver basket by the Mexican artist Alfredo Villasana. The basket is beautifully hand woven and has a rope edge and stands on a raised rope base. The basket is 7 1/4" across and 2 1/3" tall. the weight is 238 grams. On the bottom it is marked Villasana Taxco Mexico 925 and bell mark. In very good condition with no damage. It does have some tarnish marks and needs a good polishing. I think it may have a lacquer finish because most of the surface is a very bright silver. Sold without a reserve so good luck on this rare piece!

This is a huge Indian silver bowl(it is 13 inches/ 330 mm in diametre) of exceptional quality. The bowl has remarkable high relief chased scenes against a textured background. Indeed. There is so much detail and so much going on that it is impossible to capture everything in the maximum of 12 pictures that I can upload for a listing on Ebay, The bowl has a rolled top rim with a polished silver band above gently curving sides and it stands on a round flat base. The body of the bowl has a thin band between lines of beading which is superbly chased with swirling leaves as well as birds of various types. Winged figures, dog-like animals and even a snake. The main sides of ... morethe bowl are superbly chased in very high relief with incredible figures. Elephants, trees, dancers, birds. There is a remarkable person with many heads looking outwards on both sides of her head, a bow and arrow in her hand and lots of arms each holding knives an other implements/ weapons above her shoulders. It appears that she is being attacked on the one side by three figures with bows and arrows and from the other by a figure with a sword and shield. There are two elephants both with people riding on chairs. The elephants being attacked by tigers. The more that you look at this bowl. The more detail and things you see. The quality of the chasing is exceptional. The underside of the bowl has a stunning chased peacock like bird with it's wings spread and it's tail feathers fanned out. The bowl is huge and very heavy. It is 13 inches/ 330 mm in diametre and it stands 7-1/2 inches/ 191 mm high- see the last picture with an iphone 5 standing up against it.
