Lost Wax Casting Large Bronze Benin Plaque With Lepord
Greetings. This is an antique lost wax casting made of either bronze or brass. This specimen is a rare wall plaque depicting a central head wearing a horned helmet with two warriors holding spears and a lepord head. This specimen has a greatly encrusted patina of dirt and if cleaned would reveal additional designs etched into the back ground. This large plaque was collected from Nigeria and was made by the Benin people. This African artifact is in excellent but slightly worn condition and would make a fine addition to any African culture collector's treasure trove. Upgraded and VERY nice Shimano Bantam Citica CI-201. This reel has a curado 201b spool and a bearing in the palming sideplate to bring the total bearing count to 4. Performance wise you'd never feel the difference from a curado 201B5. But you're not likely to find one of those this nice. 5:1 gears are still silky smooth and the drag works with no shudder or locking. Which is typical of these if they've set out in heat locked or have debris/oil in the washers. No worries with this one! Rare Vintage Shakespeare Leader level wind fishing reel. Handle turns freely. The spool turns nicely. Clicker button engages and disengages properly. The knob on the handle is free to turn. The reel is complete no missing or parts. The oil cap(just the jewels) are broke on both sides. The reel looks old. Used and has a lot of patina. Comes from a smoke free environment. Pictures are an integral part of my description with magnification turned so please inspect closely. Mechanically reel is sound and operation. Vintage"Wright& McGill De Luxe 6 1/2 ft. No. 4468" casting rod in excellent, like new, condition. This rod is part of an estate. And its sole owner was an enthusiastic fly-fisherman. My guess is this rod dates from the early days of composite rods. It looks as if it was used a few times at most. As all of it is in mint condition This casting rod consists of two segments. The bottom half is 30 inches long. The cork handles look like-new The reel holder is in excellent, fully working condition, with shiny metal parts, and no corrosion, scratches or dings. The thin. Casting segment is 49 1/2 inches long, with the finish, seven line rings and their silk bindings in shinny new condition. The rods and finish throughout are in excellent condition. With no scratches, marks or damage of any sort. The cloth pole sheath is also in almost ... morenew condition. Very clean; has two pockets, one for each pole. This rods are ready to go fishing. Ohio the rod measures 54”in length and is in good condition. The cork handle is intact and clean. The ferrule holding the rod tip to the handle is still very tight and comes apart with a pop. While I’m not familiar with these rods. The line guides and their bindings appear to be original and are in good condition. The inside of the reel seat has the following stamped on it: Mfg. By The American Fork and Hoe Company Geneva. Ohio” The bottom of the reel seat has“Speedlock” Pat. No. 1534674 stamped on it. The cloth rod sock is original and in good to very good condition and comes with the piece of dowel rod inserted in the sock to keep the rod from getting bent.
