Another Great Estate Find For Your Bidding Pleasure! Up for bid we have a vintage Pflueger Akerite Surf Casting Reel manufactured in Akron Ohio. What a find to acquire one of these with the original box. Manual, adjusting tools all together after all those years. The tools are even marked Pflueger and the original packet of extra washers is with the reel. The reel is a semi auto-free spool-star drag reel with the Pflueger micro adjustable feature. The Gear in Mesh ration is 2 1/3 to 1. It has a mechanical thumber and as described on the box and manual the reel is manufactured of bakelite, polished diamolite on nickel silver. The drag works well and the the reel cranks smoothly so it should be good to go fishing with after installing some new line or will look great in your collection. As you can see in the pictures it is a used reel with ... moresome wear and tear that comes with normal use but overall is in good condition especially considering it's age. There is a little oxidation and some light corrosion here and there which is hard to see in the pictures but a good cleaning will make this reel look great! The box is complete and in shabby chic condition but the fact it is with the reel after all these years tells the care the original owner took of his things and we wanted to include it with the reel. As with all of our items as you see it is as we acquire it and you are bidding on exactly what you see in the pictures and no cleaning has been done.
