A temperature control knob with settings from 10 to 100 controls the temperature of the upper plate, and there are indicator lights for the heater and press motor. Two buttons on the sides of the unit control the press; both must be pressed simultaneously to trigger it. The unit comes with a set of plexiglass templates with rubber and cork gaskets. The plexiglass templates include two solid slabs and two slabs with ten 1.5" square holes, one of which has its handle screwed on and the other of which is missing its screws. Up for auction is a really nice old vintage Bard- Parker 5 1/2 inch overall Medical Scalpel with Leather Sheath. The front of the handle is marked BARD- PARKER with a number 3 and the back is marked MADE IN U.S.A. which I believe dates c1915 to present. The blade is marked on three lines A.S.R. MADE IN U.S.A. STAINLESS with a number 10 and looks to be full with tiny vintage marks and very sharp. The handle is Stainless Steel with a grooved front for secure handling and has an inscription that I can't make out but I believe is dated 11-8-65. Included is what looks like a hand crafted Brown Leather Sheath. This super neat mid 1900s Medical Scalpel with dated inscription and Leather Sheath is in very good condition for its 48 years and would make a great addition to any medical or knife collection.
