Auction is for an antique cast iron arch top grate. To be used in a wall or in the floor if you like. This one is very unusual in that it has a wonderful white enamel finish on the front much like the old cast iron bath tubs had. It is as seen in the photos and if you look closely you will see a few small chips in the white finish. It is 15" WIDE x 12 3/4" TALL. It is in good working order and has no cracks and no pitting. It would look wonderful in a bathroom or wherever a special grate is needed. GREAT CAST IRON GRATE!

MEASUREMENTS: Outside measurements: 12" x 16" Inside measurements for actual opening: 10" x 14" This is a very nice old grate with a fancy design. There are stylized flowers along the outside edge. There is an overall pattern of flowers. Leaves and ferns, and other scrollwork. The center design is raised. This heat register grate is in very good overall"as-found" condition. There is a hairline crack on the edge at the top(see bottom photo) It does not compromise the integrity of the grate and can be covered over with paint. It has chippy white paint on it. We cleaned it off and removed the dust bunnies. We sprayed the moving parts with WD-40 so that the lever works properly, and the fins open and close easily. Here is an excellent example of a vintage 1905 cast iron baseboard heat register. Damper, grate, in what I will call an ornate pinwheel design. All complete, rust free, and showing no cracks, breaks or repairs. This 3 piece unit, measures 14"x15 3/4"outside the ornate outer frame, with an 11"x 14"ornate grate and damper. This was made for a 10"x13" supply duct from the wall at the baseboard. After pulling it out of storage to get dimensions for people. I notice there is a crack in this one on the side of the louver housing. The crack does not affect the functioning of the louvers at all, is benign and is inconsequential, given that the louver housing fits into a wall or floor hole and is hidden. Again. These are covers only, no hardware included. The white one m easures about 12 1/8" tall x 10 1/8" wide. The brown one measures 14 1/8" tall x 12 1/8" wide. Antique Cast Bronze Basement Cellar Window Foundation Brass Copp Air Vent Grate
For sale is an antique cast bronze air vent from the basement of a very old commercial building. The vents were mounted in a black marble base that ran across the bottom of the store front on top of the side walk. The vent is 6" x 8" and 7/8" thick. It fit into a rectangular opening sawed into the marble base. I believe the vents are bronze but they could be red brass or copper. The vent is very heavy for its size and the weight is 7 pounds and 8.5 oz each. Depending on where you live the scrap price alone could be 24.00 to 40.00 each. There are 8 mounting holes on the frame and 4 on the grate.The outer size is 17 1/2" by 15.1/2" wide and the size is 10 by 12" if using as a floor grate.There is about a 1/8+" rail around the inside and there are 4 stabilizing rails.
