The ceiling decorative plate the floor plate and the damper with manufactures information in raised letter, Then the ornate summer insert when the flue pip is put away. I believe any flue plate was considered used on the void in the ceiling plate since we cant find any other covers or the small inset can be used on ether floor or ceiling. 15.5 diameter weight 14 pounds. These were used as through wall thimbles to and were quite attractive with a black felt backing or tar paper during the summer time when the stove was put away. Great condition. Remove those cheap tin imported air grates from your walls and install one of these cast iron beauties in your home. This cast iron grate can be used in either a floor or wall application. The air duct opening is 7 1/4" in diameter. The face plate measures 9 3/8" x 9 3/8" The cast iron grate was stripped of all the old layers of paint. They were then cleaned and sprayed with an acrylic lacquer finish. This clear finish has scratch and water resistance. There are no cracks in the cast iron. I will pack safely with tons of foam. Antique Cast Iron Grate by Adams Co. with cast iron stand
You'd be hard pressed to find a turn of the century grate in better condition! Just received at Consignment World is this fabulous cast iron grate with stand. I have tried to research this item but have had no luck finding a similiar item. As you can see from the pictures. This grate is in very good condition. It's manufactured by The Adams Company out of Debuque, Iowa. The design patent on this grate is embossed Aug. 31st, 1897. As you can see from the pictures, the grate is complete with the removable center piece and the vent slide. The condition is great and this grate has"the look" of a turn of the century piece. The stand- I can find nothing about it. It too is cast iron. It has part number 6148 embossed on the leg and 6149 embossed on the center hub that joins the legs together. On each of the 3 legs is the name"STAHL" ... morethat's cut out of the legs. I do not know if this was a customs stand for someone named Stahl or if it was a manufacturing name, but I've been unable to find anything out about it and my consignor did not know either. If anyone viewing this can educate me further about it, please message me so I can add information to this post. The Grate measures 15 3/4" in diameter and it stands 10 3/4" tall when sitting on the stand. This is a very cool vintage round/circular cast iron grate/vent/duct cover. This one was made by Stowell Manufacturing& Foundry Company South Milwaukee. Wisconsin. The center piece is completely gone, then the grate that moves to increase/decrease the air flow. All in all this item has a 16" diameter, the center hole is 6.25" in diameter. This is an excellent advertising, metal art piece that can be used as home/office decor or wall art of some sort. Please ask questions if you have any! We do combine shipments as well as free local pick-ups. I do my best to describe my items. But I am not an expert in any field. Most of my items are vintage. Pretty Antique Victorian Ornate Cast Iron Wall Register Heat Grate Vent 9.5x13.5
Here is a very pretty antique cast iron register cover. It is 13- 1/2" by 10- 1/2" With a 1- 1/4" profile. This is just the grate without the louvers underneath. We gave this a quick cleaning with a wire brush to remove the loose rust. It is pitted, and has only a couple of traces of its original finish. The cast iron is not cracked or broken. Originally this would have been used for an 8" x 12" opening. The center to center distances between the mounting screw holes are 7- 1/2" and 11- 1/2" This old cast iron heating vent has an attractive pattern that we don't see as often as some other patterns. This is a cast iron clothes iron that was heated with coal. The pieces of coal were placed on the removable tray insert.The grip part of the handle is carved wood and painted black orignally it was red but appears to be painted over. The rooster is the hatch release. Item is in excellent condition. Measures 8" long x 3 5/8" wide x 8 1/2" high and weighs 5 pounds. There is no date on the piece. It is stamped with the maker's name on both sides of the handle and on the upper portion of the lid. This item has been described to the best of our ability. Vintage Round Cast Iron Register Floor Grate - opens and closes
Up for auction is a vintage round cast iron register floor grate. It measures 10" on the inside and 11 5/8" on the top. It has been cleaned via walnut blasting and is ready for paint. It operates somewhat stiff but a little oil will help out. I didn't want to do this in case the buy wants to paint. So it does work but is stiff. There is some wear around the edge on the one side. See picture. I have a Reasonable Starting bid and NO Reserve! This item has been described as best as possible. Take a look at the pictures closely as they are an important part of the listing.
