Charter Oak Stove Grate Very Heavy with Acorn Design
This is absolutely lovely. Yes. It does have some missing crome color, but still is a quality piece. Measures 7 5/8" x 6 3/4" approximately. You can see the lovely design and that wonderful acorn in the center. My mother used it as a trivet, but it weighs 2 lb. 5 oz. before shipping materials. Above the acorn stem is a hole that would fit the swing arm for the stove. The back has the numbers 40 and 1902 raised on it. You can see the square that the hole/swing arm goes to. Antique home floor furnace vent/ grate. In relatively good shape. Considering the age! Some surface rusting here and there, but no rust holes, no bent corners or other problem areas. The hole in the floor must be at least 12" x 9" And no larger than 14 3/8" x 11 5/16" The 12" x 9" dimensions represent the drop-in dimensions. the dimensions of the portion of the grate that will drop down inside the floor, whereas the 14 3/8" x 11 5/16" represent the overall dimensions, as looking down on the grate from above. Has seven horizontal fins on the underside which open and close normally by means of flipping the adjustment knob on top to one side or the other. Quite heavy. Durable, and built like a tank. quite a contrast to the cheap ones made today and found at any home improvement store.

Vintage Antique Hammered Iron Andiron with heavy grate.#8700 under front leg
The hammered design on this is quite nice. I only have the one. But you may have the other! I know nothing about andirons. This and two others I will be listing also were in our 1840 home when we bought it. We put in a fireplace insert and had no use for them. They've been down in the cellar for 45 years! Plus) I'm not sure of the material. I believe it to be iron and the grate cast iron. It also looks like it might be brass under all that black! Don't know. Your guess is as good as mine! I only washed them lightly and sprayed them with WD40 to prevent any more rusting. I couldn't make out the numbers in picture 7 and 8. Maybe you can. I do see a 3. Under the right front leg is the number 8700. It weighs around 16 pounds! The cast iron grate part seems to weigh the most. It measure approximately 17 inches tall, length from ... morefront to end of grate is about 22. The ball measures about 10" around. The feet design is worn and some of the iron appears to be gone as you would expect for something this old. Antique Cast Iron Arts Crafts Tudor Gothic Fireplace Coal Grate Electric Fire
This ingenious creation by the Adams Company of Dubuque Iowa dates from the middle 1910s-early 1920s and adapts a genuine cast iron fireplace coal grate. It measures 10 ½” deep with the back height 16 ½” and the front height 13 ½” It tapers toward the back so it is 22 ½” wide at the front and only13 ½” wide at the back. The assembly is well cast with Arts and Crafts detail painted black and accented in gold. They have substituted a tin bottom for the coal grille and installed a single porcelain socket and side switch with pin wheel blade suspended in the middle. The standard base socket accommodates a red bulb(missing) whose heat provides updraft that makes the pinwheel spin offering a“flickering” effect. Further fire-like atmosphere was often achieved by installing clear or colored glass marbles(such as those found ... moreat craft stores) that offered a glowing coal effect. Here is a very pretty antique cast iron register cover. It is 13 3/4 inches by 10 7/8 inches. This is just the grate without the louvers underneath. Though the lever that normally opens and closes the louvres is still there. The cast iron is not cracked or broken, though there is rust where the original finish has worn away. This old cast iron heating vent has an attractive pattern that we don't see as often as some other patterns.

This is an auction for a restored antique black cast iron louvered floor grate. This grate has been sand blasted and then repainted. All the parts are in good working shape. No rust. Louvers work smoothly. The grate is 13 3/4" long by9 1/2" wide. The part that fits into the floor is 10 1/2" long by 7 1/2" wide. It is 2" tall. Some light pitting either from original production or from sand blasting. But very minor. See the last photo. The grate even has the original pin in the wheel to open and close the louvers. MEASUREMENTS: 15" Wide 13" High Inside measurements for actual opening- 13" X 11" This is a very attractive antique Victorian larger size grate with an arched or dome top. It has an ornate design which looks like twisted vines. The grate is in"as-found" condition. It has chippy white paint on it. We cleaned it off and removed the dust bunnies. We sprayed the moving parts with WD-40 so that the lever works properly. And the fins open and close easily. The original brass knob is on the lever. Radius large tripod stove - Swedish made - Nickle plated - Cast iron grate
A large Radius tripod stove made in Sweden. Probably in the late 50's or early 60's. The stove is in good solid condition, but has not been tested. Over the years, It has had several solder repairs to the fuel fount as shown in the pictures, and the manufacturer's stamped logos are difficult to see through the heavy nickle plating. The stove stands about 12" tall, with an 11" diameter heavy cast iron(Optimus? grate. The burner is a Primus part. An intersting and unusual vintage camp stove for your collection. Group of 3 Antique Cast Iron Wood Coal Stove Lid Lifters, Grate Shakers, Etc.
A group of three antique cast iron stove parts. I am unsure of the exact function of each. They could be lid lifters. Grate shakers, or something else, but they are all stove related. The first piece measures about 8-1/4" long and is marked"140" on the top of the handle. There are some casting marks on the underside of the handle as well. But they are difficult to read. The second piece m easures about 8" long. Has a casting mark on the underside of"B63" and is nickel plated. The third piece m easures about 11-1/2" long and has no casting marks or other identifiers. And is also nickel plated. The parts are used. But in good condition. The plated items do show some plating wear and minor rusting. The pictures show the condition of the items. This is a nice old group of 4 cast iron wood or coal burner grates. They are 3 3/4" tall. The back is 2" wide, front is 1 1/2" wide at the top and about 1 1/4" wide at the bottom.
