Up for auction is this lot of 63 old zinc and glass canning jar lids. These lids were recovered from the basement of an old home. All are dirty and to some degree coroded. I cleaned 2 of them to let you know that they will clean up easily with soapy water a rag and a soft wire brush. It took less than one minute to clean each of the two lids. Lids are 3" across and 1" deep. Some of the glass inserts are embossed"GENUINE BOYD CAP FOR MASON JARS" others have nthing on them and at least one has CONSOLIDATED FRUIT JAR CO. N.Y. on it. BEADS: Lot of 5) STONE; CARVED-ETCHED. 19th century basement in San Francisco's Chinatown Lengths: 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" Widths: 1/2" to 1 1/2" Combined Weight: 2.9 oz These are FIVE stone carved/etched beads found during the refurbishment of an old. 19th century property not far from the present San Francisco China Town. Near Sacramento and Grant Streets. In was uncovered in a very grungy basement that held small. Rotting bunk-type beds. Previously. At the same site, tiny"opium weights" were uncovered as well. The tube-like beads have a series of characters etched onto them. While the larger bead is carved with star-patterns and leaves. There are also openings on all sides of this intriguing brown bead. Minor scrapes/dings on the other four specimens. Not clear what the etchings refer to. But the size/weight ... moreof these fascinating stone-cut beads suggests something very special. Perhaps those with a more detailed knowledge of Chinese etchings will be able to make sense out of these.

MTG collection from basement
Found a collection of mtg cards in the basement. The first thing I did after finding them is buy about 20 booster packs from recent sets. On realizing how bad an idea it was getting involved again. I've decided to sell off all my cards. For sale: The majority of my collection. Except Gods, rare lands and Sarkhan The Dragonspeaker. Cards range from early-mid 90s to early 2000s, plus a lot of cards from 2015 onwards. There are in excess of a thousand cards. With at least 100 rares, probably closer to 200 rares. I sold alpha and beta cards back in 2005, so don't expect any of those. I'll post additional details if wanted. The cards on the table are some recent acquisitions, the box is what they were stored in(the whole box was in an airtight container, no mould or mildew, guaranteed)
