I believe these stars date from the late 19th to early 20th century and were used by masons to help tie the walls of a brick structure together. These stars may have been stacked on top of a larger plate/washer or used alone. The stars vary in patina due to use and age and are dirty as I have not cleaned them. The stars are not a matched set and differ in size and casting. They were purchased from an old barn here in NH. I am uncertain of their origin. TWO SETS OF 4 AVAILABLE.
