The old wrinkle black paint shows use with scratches, rust and slipping paper feed. It is loaded with old paper that is fragile and tears easily. It measures 9 ¼” by 4 ½” and is 4” high. This is a circa 1911 calendar or note pad holder by that company. It measures 6 by 3 3/4 inches by 2 inches high or 16 by 10 by 5 cm. The unusual slanted form features a fancy screw off floral and acanthus leaf finial that allows one to hold the calender or notepad in place. This extendable screw is over 2 inches in length is long enough to hold a 365 day calender. The base has flared sides sides with concave gradooned work all the way around. VINTAGE BRASS MEMO PAD HOLDER
This is a vintage brass Memo pad holder probably from the 1960's. It has a faux leather inlay with Memo written on it. The cover has some slight pitting. Corrosion, and scratching that will all probably come out with polishing. It still has a note pad inside and the back has a cardboard base. The edge of that bottom has some corrosion. It's a neat period piece. The brass inside is in great shape. Vintage "Aunt Jemima" figure/ ceramic holder for kitchen sponge/ scouring pad
Vintage"Aunt Jemima" figure/ ceramic holder for kitchen sponge/ scouring pad. This ceramic figure of a vintage Aunt Jemima is a kitchen sponge/ scouring pad holder; I found it on one of my many treasure hunts. I found a similar sponge/ pad holder with a complete 12 pc. 1950's/60's kitchen set online. But this little figure could be used for a small herb planter or some other useful kitchen holder. She is very detailed. With her hair up, her hankerchief, apron and the pose with her hands on her hips. She measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 2" there is no marks or stamps on her; only a small residue spot where I think there was a paper label at one time. The figure was originally cold painted red, black and white, but like so many vintage ceramic items the paint has worn off over years of being washed and cleaned. The ... moreonly paint left on this figure is 3 dots of white on each side of her hankerchief on her head, and one white dot in each eye. For Auction is a bronze Desk Set Item made by Tiffany Studios. New York. This is called a Note Pad Holder and it is done in Tiffany's Studios most sought after Dore' Patina. This Note Pad is part of the highly collected bronze"Zodiac" Desk Set items. The Note Pad measures 4 5/8" wide by 7 1/2" deep. It stands only 5/8" tall and that is to the top of the hinge on the front side. The Note Pad displays a wonderful Gold Acid Etched small flake patina. This is called Dore' Patina which means"Gold" in French. There are a total of Eight Zodiac signs on the top of the Bronze Note Pad. The top cover opens and closes with ease as the hinge is working properly. The Patina shows a very nice lightly aged gold patina with minor wear. When these were made they were an even brighter gold and the Acid etched ... moreFlakes showed even more brilliantly like the inside of the Note Pad. The Note Pad is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no dents. Or dings to any of the corners. This piece shows minor wear. There is some dark patina staining on the underside. This cannot be seen when displayed and has minimal effect on value. The Note Pad has all of its original Screws as well. The piece is signed on the backside Frame plate with"Tiffany Stvdios New York" Impressed Mark along with the Pattern Number 1187 for the Calendar Frame Number. The spelling of Studio with the letter"V" denotes this as an earlier piece. Tiffany started using a 3 digit number for his Fancy Desk Set goods after 1902 subsequently this piece was made early circa 1902-1905. This is a quality item in the Tiffany Zodiac Desk Set Items. Welcome. This small lot of three items are all from New York Worlds Fair's. I know. It may sound silly to some, but we feel that some items have a special'vibe' together, a special'bond. Having been together for so long, and in their hayday, sought after, collected, purchased, carefully carried home, likely on the subway or a long bus ride, to be displayed and cherished together. These were found together among other worlds fair items in the Estate(s) which we are slowly and carefully making our way through(My Aunt& Uncle.s as well as my Grandmother) And so together they will stay. Even though these items are from two separate Worlds Fairs, each was from a NEW YORK Worlds Fair, either 1939/40 or 1964/65. From the 1939/40 New York Worlds Fair: A Pot holder of Terry Cloth in a dual color tone of deep burgundy red and ivory ... morewhite. Depicted are the TRYLON PERISHPERE. We understand this item to be quite rare and we'd think. Especially in this unused condition. The second item was found wrapped in the pot holder. It's a souvenir wooden Dutch shoe from the famed"Holland Amerika Lijn" Cruise Liner. We do not have any other provenance. Other than that's what my family always said(these are from my Aunt and Uncles Estate, which is the primary estate we're managing. We also know that they attended both worlds fairs, with my Grandmother as well. It has crossed flags and also painted on the face and toe of the shoe are the words: BOKMA" and"LEEUWARDEN" On the side is painted: HOLLAND- AMERIKA LIJN" and the insde of the shoe is painted a vibrant red. It is also stamped on the bottom"Made in Holland" From the 1964/65 Worlds Fair: A lovely little personalized pocket mirror with the name"Anne" on it. It's got vibrant coloring and a great graphic of that Worlds Fair icon. The UNISPHERE with very little wear. The mirror is also in excellent condition with little to no scratches.
