It has a small germanium lens that images onto a thin film thermocouple inside. The original application was monitoring the laser annealing of silicon wafers. From what i've read, these display a temperature and reticle on a video monitor that overlays a video image. Easy worth the opening bid for the germanium lens alone. This item is HTF to be sure.
