1950's NASA - Western Electric Company DC Voltmeter
This is a DC Voltmeter which was clearly property of NASA from 1960 thru 1966. As you can see in the pictures it was utilized at the Pacific Missile Facility in the Hawaiian Area. What a cool piece of history. Whether it was used on a missile. The first satellites(Explorer, Apollo 13, Mercury.etc) or any other early NASA mission is really unknown. The uses are endless. I was trying to research the era and the placement and there was just so much going on in that time frame especially due to the fact that NASA had just started or changed names from NACA to NASA in 1959-1960. As one should know, there is not a lot of NASA equipment out there because NASA does not just'throw' stuff away when done with it. However, how this item got out to the public is beyond me but we ended up with it. Seen at the botton of the page are two screen photos from an HP 3577 Network Analyzer driven from the'AC Output' The 3577 was set to its 1Megohm input impedance and as can be seen. The frequency responses meet the HP specification provided on the back of the 400FL. Internally. The tantalum coupling capacitor in the feedback loop of the JFET input stage has been replaced with an essentially zero leakage, stacked foil ... morefilm capacitor. The voltage divider that sets the input stage bias voltage has been changed from a 100K single-turn pot between two 242K resistors across the plus/minus 26V rails to a 20K. 10-turn pot between two 280K resistors between those same rails. This allows the correct input offset and-6.00V bias to be easily and accurately set. The'AC Output' circuitry has been changed to a 50ohm output impedance that must be loaded with a 100Kohm load. this used multimeter requires an AA battery and a 9 volt(not included) there is some corrosion inside on battery terminals. I installed batteries for testing and applied a spray cleaner to the function switch. But not all functions worked. Perhaps a better cleaner would help. Test leads are not included, but the instruction book is in very good condition.

Does not have a proble but it states on the meter that it uses a standard dc 11 meg ohm probe. Has batteries installed and meter shows that they are good when put in batt test mode. A piece of test equipment that apparently can be used for many purposes. I have read that it can also be used as a radio receiver as well as a test set. It has a module is missing from the front left corner as the pictures show. Comes with attached power cord. Though I’m a little sketchy on some of the subtle differences between series when it’s not actually printed on the scale. Please, someone out there clue me in! This one has a stitched leather handle. The unit is in good condition. With no damage. The scale is beautiful and clear as is the control paint, and the case shows only slight normal wear. You’ll need to supply your own leads. I have tested the meter as best I can and everything seems to be working properly. But please bid with confidence as I will guarantee this unit not to be DOA. The batteries are installed and included, so just take it out of the box and use it! One tiny screw on the scale is missing, but it has no effect on functionality. Up for sale is an Old Vintage 1956 Weston High Frequency Voltmeter Model 341. No. 19846. This item is UNTESTED. It has a great antique, steampunk look. It's made by Weston Electrical Instrument Corp out of Newark New Jersey. It's a heavy wood box(weighs 10 pounds) that opens up and on the inside it has description sheet, and the voltmeter/ gauge/ indicator. The gauge reads"Volts, Alternating& Direct Current" On the page(that's dated 1956 at the bottom) it says"Weston Zero Corrector" The box measures 10" x 8 1/4" x 5" and has 2 clasps to keep it shut. The exterior shows a LOT of wood wear such as nicks. But there are some minor scratches and I have no way of testing the meter, although from appearance the transistors, resistors, and solders appear to be in good condition.
