Hull was searching for an investor for his"reel that wouldn't backlash. he came across a company in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Zero Hour Bomb Company, which was looking for a way to shore up the business as the market was dwindling for their main product, electric time bombs for fracturing oil wells to produce more oil. This meeting between Hull and the Zero Hour Bomb Company would change fishing forever. In May of 1949. The maiden reel was in production. Called the"Standard, it was given the model number: 1. This reel was manufactured from 1949 until 1954 in three different iterations: The"1A" model was built between 1949 and 1951 and is noted by its red spinner head. This is an antique Edison Standard cylinder phonograph in very nice original condition. It is stamped with serial number 618398. The mandrel has nice original plating with no dents and the bedplate still has great japanning with present gold details. This machine has a model"C" reproducer which will play only 2 minute cylinders. The motor has been cleaned and tested and runs strong and steady. The leather belt needs to be replaced as does one rubber foot. The case measures 12 3/4" in length by 9" deep by 10-1/2" high. The lid of the case has some loose joints as well as some cracks in the wood on the inside of the lid. But the outer finish is very nice on the oak case. There is no decal. Comes complete with crank as well as an old magazine article about phonographs. The case is equipped with the metal loop for holding ... morea horn crane as well as the metal crane foot retainer on the bottom of the case. I'm offering a complete Trimble Thunderbolt GPS disciplined frequency source. I tested this receiver(s/n 34736025. 2/11/05, Rev E) antenna and power supply early April and all are operating properly. This kit includes: A used and tested Trimble Thunderbolt receiver(Rev-E firmware) An unused Trimble Bullet antenna.The antenna is unused and has never been exposed to the elements. I have checked the antenna for proper operation. A switching power supply with receiver power connector installed and power cord included. The last photo in the series is from a previous auction and shows the power connector on the end of the supply cable- same connector and construction as used for the current auction. An unused 75 foot length of antenna cable originally supplied by Trimble(Trimble part number 14888-00 Rev A visible in photo) and terminated on ... moreone end only. Leaving one end un-terminated allows the cable to be passed through a smaller hole in your wall when wiring an outside antenna. 2 press-on connectors for the antenna cable… only one connector is needed. A“dummy port” a black plastic fitting very similar to a female“F” connector) is needed to install these connectors. One dummy port is included in this auction as shown in the photos. It is in excellent. Played condition. There are a couple of good dings on the back of the body(see pic) as well as a small paint chip near the neck plate(see pic) The front has a ding on the bottom of the front/side of the bass horn(see pic) as well as two holes from where the bridge cover went(I do not have it) The pickguard also has a couple of extra holes in it near the pickups(see pic) Guitar plays and sounds great with no playability issues and the pots are clean with no scratchiness. The neck dates the guitar to June 1st, 1984 with one of the pots indicating a manufacture date of the 11th week of 1984. The 57’ modifications include a reset neck to 57’ angle and specs. Refret to wider frets, plugging the P90 PUP holes and re-routing them to PAF Humbucker specs, addition of a stop bar, a Tune O Matic, complete refinish to 57’ paint specs and the gold color is a perfect match. All work was done by Mirabella Guitars and Restorations. Anyone in the“Biz” knows the top two conversion luthiers were Chris Mirabella and Terry Mueller…and I say“were” because neither of them are doing conversions any longer.
