This is a very fine example of a very early and rare Hickok Signal Generator. The model number is not on the unit. But I found a gentleman who has a picture of this unit on his website and that is the number that he is using. Here is a link to his website. This unit has a new power cord. The capacitors have been replaced and the tubes have been tested and are good. The unit has not been tested against a frequency meter. I also have what I believe to be an original typed manual for this unit. This also notes that it is a Type OS-7. This is the only copy of a manual for this unit that I am aware of. Untitled Document I ran this up on a variac and tested the audio output section and it does put out a weak 400Hz Audio signal but nothing else could be verified as working. I would suspect that this needs a recap like the other gear in this lot. The old wax and paper caps were literally melting away. I have not taken it apart or done any work on it. The attenuator turns and moves fluidly without issue. It does not have a glass plate in front of the dial and only 1 light is good. Check out the pics for cosmetic condition. This is an old RCA RF signal generator in good electrical and cosmetic condition. The RF output is good on all bands; although the waveform isn't the greatest(I'll post pictures) it is totally suitable for receiver alignment and other general RF uses. The small size(5" X 6" X 9" makes this ideal for someone with limited bench space. There is some discoloration on the front panel as shown in the pictures. HP 8660C RF Signal Generator Mainframe
This is a used HP 8660C RF Signal Generator for parts. This unit partially functions. But caused a known good RF module to keep dropping out. I have used the side panels and the Manual Tuning switch& Tuning RPG to replace ones on a good unit that got broken in shipping. The right handle on this unit is completely broken off. The left handle is broken at the top. This was the shipping damage to the original good unit. The keyboard of this unit appears to function properly and the frequencies can be selected as shown in the first three pictures. I have not performed any troubleshooting on this unit since it was intended to be used only for replacement parts, however, my guess would be that the 11661 Frequency Extension Module is causing the dropouts.
