This listing is for a very nice. Clean Heathkit model IGW-19 signal generator. Fully Tested and in perfect working condition. It is factory wired and. Except for the color, is identical to the IG-102S. It covers the frequency range from 100 KHz to 110 MHz on six fundamental bands, and from 110 to 220 MHz on a calibrated band of harmonics. It's output can be modulated externally or with it's own internal 400 Hz oscillator. The model IGW-19/ IG-102S differs from the more common model IG-102. It that it has two BNC output jacks on the face of the instrument that provide a high level output directly from the RF oscillator. This output was to be used for instruction purposes with the Berkeley Physics Laboratory course book. I do not have the test equipment or expertise to test all the possible modes of this signal generator. I did read the manual and connected it to an oscilloscope. Set it for 80KHz, 1MHz, 10MHz, 100MHz, and 200MHz output frequencies. All displayed fine. Could not test at higher frequency because the maximum response of the ocilloscope is 100 MHz. I could change the output amplitude using the keypad. Then only problem noticed was the power switch. It rotates when turning on or off. It does not effect the operation. You just have to hold the switch to prevent it from rotating when turning on or off. I removed the cover and the switch looks like a standard toggle switch mounted to the front panel. Do you love a challange? Maybe tearing your hair out? If so. You'll just love this thing! Here is an HP 8657A RF Signal Generator. It's supposed to put out an RF signal from 0.1 to 1040MHz. This one definitely does NOT do that! Oh. It's not that it doesn't output at all, It does. But what it outputs is less of a clean signal, and more of what appears to be RF interference. Yup. It's broken! Think you can fix it? You're a better technician than I. Or at least more optimistic. I've tried troubleshooting it for days. But I really couldn't get much farther than the Attenuator, which does appear to be working. I didn't seem to be getting any signal from the A6 output board. But my scope only goes up to 50MHz, and without a Freq counter, I could only get so far. The power supply board seems to be working well. ... moreWithout much noticeable ripple. So that's not it. There were no obviously blown up/ melted/ exploded/ imploded parts inside. And all the boards are in nice cosmetic shape. This unit does have some nice parts though. The optional High Stability Timebase seems to be working OK. The first scope display shows the clean 10MHz signal coming from it. The other displays are what it's outputting. I'm no expert. But I'm pretty sure this output is NOT normal! Cosmetically. It's ok, not great. Has assorted scuffs and paint chips around the front frame, and a scrape in the front panel under the Address/Local key. It's missing the handles and feet. Guaranteed to to be broken! Good luck! It also has an internal 400 Hz internal modulator and can accept an external modulation source or provide the internal modulation signal as an audio output. In all, a very versatile signal source for aligning those vintage radios you've been collecting. This is a nice. Clean unit, both inside and out, shows no sign of corrosion or damage, and puts out a good, strong signal on all bands. It's shown in the second photo being set up to deliver a 5 MHz signal.
