Here is a very nice manual antenna tuner from the estate of a silent key. It is the MFJ-949D Versa Tuner II. It handles up to 300W. And it matches"almost any antenna, including dipoles, inverted vees, verticals, mobile whips, beams, random wires, and other antennas fed by coax lines, balanced lines or a single wire. It has a 4:1 balun built in for connection to balanced lines. A 50 ohm dummy load is also built in for easy tuning. This tuner can match antennas for 160M through 10M. It has a crossed needle meter which indicates forward power and SWR simultaneously. The meter can be used even when the tuner is set to'bypass' If you want to light the meter, you can connect a user-supplied 12VDC power source to the back of the tuner.
