Vintage Madeira Pure Linen Embroidered Placemats, Napkins, Table Cloth Runner
This is a lovely vintage set of pure linen table linens set that are hand embroidered. And completely hand sewn. I believe they are Madeira linens. All are very nice with no holes or tears. I will list them for you. There are 6 placemats that are 10 X 17 inches.4 are excellent, 2 have faint stains.6 Napkins 10 X 10 inches. 1 is excellent, 6 have faint stains.1 Table runner 34 X 15 inches. 3 spots on it that look like grease, They have no color. I washed these linens on gentle. Maybe soaking them will take off the marks. Pretty luncheon set. The pictures only show 5 of napkins and placemats. I found the others after I took the pictures. There are 6 of each.

Antique to vintage bobbin lace table cloth edging 2 1/3+ yards machine made
Over the next couple of weeks I will be listing loads of lace items. All were given to me 40 years ago by a 90 year old woman. Who has worked as a seamstress in London from the age of 10 years old! so the pieces I have are from about 1886 onwards. Nonw of the lace[this piece or any I will be offering] has a musty smell, but it does need washing to remove yellowing from age. I used many of the pieces I had in dressing antique dolls that I had either collected or reproduced myself. Unfortunately my hands and eyes don't enjoy doing such fine work anymore. So it's time to stop hoarding! As I am not a lace'buff' I will try to do my best in naming them. But could very well get it wrong. I much prefer to let the pictures speak for themselves. This beautiful"Butter Nut Yellow" Tea table set is completely hand crafted from a fine Linen cloth. The edges are trimmed in a fine white crocheted stitch, at each corner is a"Battenburg Lace" style Trumpet Flower with hand embroidered details. The napkins are each trimmed in the same crochet as the edges of the table cloth. The Table Cloth measures 32 inches square. The 4 napkins are 9-3/4" x 8-1/4" Set is in very nice condition. Tan and pale yellow- very lifelike shading in the beautiful handwork! I believe that the leaves have been done in the Kensington stitch. The Kensington stitch used layers. Directionality and fine gradations to get the shading effect for botanical realism. The embroidery is the level of a highly experienced needle person! It is very old; belonged to my great grandmother and has never been used however, because it has been stored so long, needs a cleaning. It is in perfect condition just has a musty smell; very crisp in texture. It measures 89" x 76" in original accrue form; this is not a newly hand crocheted item, it is over 100 years old.
