Very Large Thornton Pickard Ruby 10" x 8" Wet - Dry Plate Camera
Very Large Thornton Pickard Ruby Wet- Dry 8" X 10" Plate Camera I have for offer an English Thornton Pickard a very rare Ruby Mahogany& Brass plate camera. It comes with one double plate carrier that shows evidence that this camera was used for wet plates. It is missing a small piece of wood in one of the corners and has a split on one side. I believe the camera has had some modifications as it has a pneumatic shutter fitted behind the lens which I don't think is original. The lens is unnamed and is solid brass with nice optics. It measures approximately 6cm in length. The fittings could do with a good polish to get them back to their very best. It is missing some screws and the brass turn table underneath. The glass focusing screen has a repaired crack. The glass measures 10" X 8" The bellows are double extension ... morebut do have a repair at the back near were they meet the main frame off the camera body. This is a cosmetic repair and the bellows are not light tight. Please look at all the photos carefully. As they give a better description than I can! I am selling this for display only. This is a vintage mini cream and sugar set with tray. Made in Japan. These were in the china cupboard at my grandmother’s house. I don’t know much about them but they are pretty heavy and have nice floral detail on them. I am assuming that they are silver plate because a magnet doesn’t stick to them but I am not sure. All 3 pieces are in nice vintage condition. Here are the specifics: The sugar bowl and creamer have Made in Japan“OK” and 10-34 embossed on the bottom. The sugar bowl measures 3 inches x 2 1/8 inches and stands about 1 ¾ inches tall. The overall width is 4 ½ inches with the handles. Up for auction i s a very rare U.S. Coast Guard silver soldered silverplate servi ng dish. T his Coast Guar d serving dish has a large shield on the inside with 13 stars. It measu res just over 9 1/2 inches long and about 7 1/2 inches wide and is about 2 inches deep. Th ere are a couple very tiny dents on the bo t tom(see photos) I am sure this will po li sh up very nice- I have left it alone and uncleaned. This is a beautiful plate in a variant of the Diamond and Sunburst pattern made by The United States Glass Co. The patterns are very similar to each other. But this pattern has a English hobnail or strawberry diamond between the zippered tusks with fans. The plate is 10 inches in diameter and 1-¼ inch tall at the rim. The flat bottom is 5 inches in diameter. The glass is very clear. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips. Flakes or cracks. Shipping includes insurance. BRNCRT-XX3)

The hallmark star in the circle indicated the year of 1946. This is a beautiful plate with normal scratchs. Has some tarnish. It is markde 10 3/4 in on the back but is more like 10 5/8 in. Including a footed water pitcher, a coffee pot, a single rose bud vase, and 7 selected creamers& sugars. Such names as Wm Rogers, F.B. Rogers, and Oneida are present. This is a spectacular lot for collection or resale. F. B. Rogers Silver Co. was a silver smithing company founded in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts in 1883. It was acquired by Edmund W. Porter and L.B. West, who incorporated the company and moved manufacturing operations to Taunton, Massachusetts in 1886. For several years, the company became known as West Silver Company, and was producing silver products for the William Rogers Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut. About 1904, West and Porter retired ... moreand sold the company to William Davison, Carleton A. Woodward, and H.E. Nearing, who changed the companys name back to F.B. Rogers. In 1925, the company moved from 31 Winthrop Street to 59 Wales Street. In 1943 it moved again to West Water Street, to a site formerly occupied by the Weir Stove Company, who produced Glenwood Ranges. In 1955, F.B.
