Oval Bread or Fruits Serving Bowl Dish – from F.B. Rogers and 3 small bowls
This auction is for a 12/12" long and 6" wide oblong bowl. It would be great used for bread. Fruits or has a serving bowl dish. It is very shiny with a small amount of tarnish( polish it right out) The edging is a pretty repousse design that resembles water droplets. It has its original stick attached. The bowls all have the repousse design. But vary in size and manufacturer. The first bowl in the left of the first picture is 6 1/2" wide and stands 1 1/4" high. It is not marked, The little middle bowl is actually a plate and 5 3/4" wide and marked national silver plate Home products Stanley Westfield Mass. This has an openwork scrolled frame with leaves that gracefully vine in a basket shape. Three ball feet and a solid handle with engraved floral design. The bowl is 10" long by 5 1/2" wide and 4 1/2 high, this is 1/2" thick, it is lead crystal, the bowl rings when tapped, there are tiny bubbles in the glass consistent with the age, it has a slightly blue-green tint. The bowl has a deep saw tooth edge, ribbed sides and a starburst in the bottom. The edge has a sharp, clean cut. Overall the piece is 9" tall, 10 1/2" long by 7" wide. Excellent condition, there is a rough edge on the side of one tooth ... morebut it is not apparent, no other damage. The piece weights nearly 4 pounds alone. Measurements are approximate. Antique English Silver Pierced Oval Basket/Bowl
From my mother’s display cabinet. I am unsure of it’s original function but at 4" long x 3” wide, it works perfectly as an elegant little business card holder. While the maker is unknown, the underside is clearly hallmarked EPNS and MADE IN ENGLAND. Based on my research, it probably dates to early 1900’s and is in good estate condition with no cracks or breaks or flaws in the openwork however there is some loss of plate commensurate with age. Very beautiful Owen Minerva Antique Covered Serving Bowl. Oval in shape. Lovely Rose pattern with beaded edging, flowers and bows. The Owen China Co. was located in Minerva. Ohio. It was opened in 1902 and closed in 1932. It won a medal at the 1904 St. Louis World Fair for best domestic semi-porcelain. There are no cracks or chips. This charming Bowl measure 8.25 by 11 inches long and 1.5 inches deep. This is in good condition and little signs of Honest Wear no signs of damage or repair. Royal Worcester manufactures bone china and in particular porcelain. Founded in Worcester. England in 1751, the factory was established on the banks of the River Severn by a group of local businessmen, with the guidance of Dr John Wall, an eminent physician. Dr. Wall along with another of the group, apothecary William Davis, developed their method for producing porcelain. Dr. Wall secured the sum of £4500 from the partners to establish the factory in Worcester and those original partnership deeds are still housed in the Museum of Worcester ... morePorcelain. The Worcester factory always prided itself on its quality Worcester Porcelain. It received a royal warrant in 1789. And is still currently by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. At its height. The firm employed nearly 1,000 people, but after the 2006 merger with Spode, and heavy competition from overseas, the production was gradually switched to factories in Stoke and abroad. 100 staff were made redundant in 2003 and another 100 went in 2005. 15 porcelain painters left the Severn Street factory on Friday 29 September 2006, together with 100 other workers. The very few employees who remain with Royal Worcester will be retrained so the company can focus on the production of ornamental, giftware and prestige ranges.

If you are a lover of Blue and White dinnerware. You will love this Enoch Woods'Castles' Transferware OVAL VEGETABLE BOWL 8 5/8 L" X 6 1/2 W" X 2" H. This unique specialty bowl is a gorgeous detailed blue and white English castle scene surrounded with a 1" rim tapering to 3/4" at sides and top and bottom of bowl. The rim displays familiar blue and white flowers. It has a blue printed backstamp as seen in the attached photo. Also on the bottom is the printed'4' and also another imprint to the right of the backstamp. I can't read the imprint clearly. It was produced in England by Woods& Sons earthenware manufactures. Woods& Sons was a leading pottery and earthenware manufacturer from 1818 to 1846. The company closed in 1846 but reopened in 1913. It has a couple minor glazing manufacturing imperfections on back on lower left of backstamp. Hardly noticable. Actually each piece in this pattern has minor difference, no two pieces are exactly the same. That is part or it's heritage, personality and collectabality. I have other listings in this same pattern and also in Woods& Sons'English Scenery' pattern. Both patterns can be used and interchanged very beautifully in the same table setting because they display similar flowers and the color of the Transferware is in the same blue and white hue. International Silver Plate Oval Serving Bowl--Covered Carrier #6012
1953 was a very good year for Mr. Belman. However you could be the winner of this most beautiful silver plate covered dish/bowl oval carrier offered in my auction-I presume that this was an award for Mr. Belman's June flight Beechmont in 1953. The covered bowl carrier is two piece with overall dimemsions of 12" by 9" The glass bowl bottom should not be more than 7" by 4 1/2" The top of the bowl can flare out to 9" by 6" at a height of 2" max.This item is very substantial and has a weight shy of 3 lbs. By the appearance it is obvious that the silver coating is heavy gauge. There has to be at least 2 oz's of silver applied to the metal which could be copper. The item has very nice handles and decorative trim. Doubt that it was ever used. The silver sheen is in excellent condition. It could be polished ... moreto a higher luster if so desired. I purchased this item from an estate some years ago, polished the silver and had it wrapped with saran wrap. That kept it in very good condition. It is now time to pass it along to someone that might get some enjoyment using it for formal dinners. Would even make a great wedding gift for the right person. Also the lid has a flat surface on the top and when removed from the lower section and turned over it too could be used as a serving holder with another glass bowl of the same size. Maybe it was originally designed for this purpose. In any event this is definitetly a quality piece to own. I do not have a bowl to offer for this carrier- postage $8.00.

When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. But odd surfaces can prove difficult sometimes as I lack a pair of calipers. With over a thousand items in my store. Errors do occur, albeit infrequently.
