Oval Eye Frosted Leaf 8 1/2" Celery Vase Offered here is a celery vase. 8 ½” tall in the pattern called Oval Eye Frosted Leaf. For reference see Metz 2, 237. There are two condition issues with the vase. The first was no doubt done in the making. See the second photo. It appears the glass cutter hit an air bubble when cutting the groove in the glass which caused this open bubble. The other issue concerns a grinding and polishing of what was most likely a small chip on the edge of the base rim. I have tried to show this in the third and fourth photos. The base is just a little bit“out of round” in the area where this was done. Aside from the two issues mentioned there are no other problems. I am still listing this even with these issues as this is a fairly rare piece of blown and cut glass. Please feel free to email any questions ... moreor ask for more photos. Insurance is included in the shipping cost. I prefer payment through PayPal. However if you wish to pay by check please indicate that. I prefer to ship using USPS Priority Mail. Grindley in the elegant Idris pattern is in excellent. Mint condition! The gorgeous clover decoration is a deep, intense cobalt, along with rich, royal blues in this pattern, which is very lovely. The shining, hand-applied gold decoration is in a nearly perfect state of preservation, the porcelain is white, its glaze is shiny, with no scratches, utensil marks, crazing, cracks, or chips. It measures 15 ⅞ in. long x 11 ½ in. wide x 1 ¾ in. high. The backstamp was used on items produced up to 1914. In green underglaze. It consists of a laurel wreath containing the words"England* W.H. Description The Grindley& Co Clytie pattern was registered in October 1897. The pattern features blue-green flowers and scrolls on a white background accented with gold trim. This Covered Vegetable Bowl is oval in shape. It is 12 inches from handle-to-handle. It is marked Semi-Porcelain W. H. Grindley& Co England. Patent applied for. It also has a blue mark of 17 Clytie Rd. No. 304006. That number shows that the pattern was issued in 1897. This item has some overall crazing. The interior has some small rust colored stains(see photo) The lid or cover has some rough areas on the inside rim and one spot that is a chip. This is a really delightful medium-sized Oval Dish n the'Bee'Pattern from Carlton Ware. The design represents a embossed Honey Bee at one end of the plate with a series of brightly coloured. Stylized flowers nearby, all set on a dark cream rope-effect lustred ground. The Bee itself is delicately painted in enamels. This design was first introduced in the early 1930s.
