Since 1826. Herend has been producing elegant, quality pieces for royalty and others of discerning taste. Based on the"Indian Basket" pattern of the 1850s, this design, Chinese Bouquet, was created specially for Count Albert Apponyi in the 1930s. This timeless and beautiful design has been continually produced since then. The bottom bears the Herend stamp as well as the code 212(representing the oval dish form used) and AOG(representing the Chinese Bouquet design and rust color) The number"30" on the inside bottom rim represents the particular artisan who handpainted this piece. The lack of a date code suggests that the piece was produced prior to 1990. While the modern Herend Stamp suggests it was created after 1948. The dish is in very good. Although not perfect condition. The sheen shows overall scuffing from utensil wear or perhaps contact rubbing as from a dishwasher; there are no chips, cracks, or crazing. Both dishes are the same size measuring 8" long. 6" wide and 4" high with the lids in place. Both lids are identical and interchangeable. The dish bottoms are different with the one on the right being noticeably darker green with wider vertical bands. I believe both styles were made by Hocking but the darker green one is rare. It matches the square and rectangular paneled refrigerator jars also made by Hocking. All four pieces each have a few small chips plus tiny flea bites or inner rim roughness but display well as the chips are near the ends and hidden by the lids. This is very thick and heavy. 7-3/4 long x 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/4" high. The only blemish I see is in the center on the bottom. There is a mark but through a loupe it looks raised. A wonderful old pink Depression glass 9 ½” oval bowl in the“Doric” pattern. Made by the Jeannette Glass Co. ca. 1935-38. This lovely bowl has a fleur-de-lis and flower pattern around the rim and in the center of the bowl. The rim is smooth. Condition: There are a couple of tiny scrapes on the inside rim and a small flaw in the glass(pictured) on one side. There are no chips. Cracks, or repairs. Tidbit, gravy or may other items needing serving. It is decorated with stars and star bursts and has a scalloped edge. The measurements are 9 1/4" across, 4' wide and 2 1/2" wide.
