Yo u are viewing a n late 1800's silver plate water pitcher with working hinged lid. The piece is insulated. It measures about 12" t all to top of finial on hinged lid and is about 11.5" at widest point from tip of spout to end of handle. The pitcher has a lovely handle with a griffin figural design and the spout has a classic finial with a bu st of Miner va beneath it. The design on the sides of the piece is that of urns and shafts of wheat- a truly classic Victorian piece! I see no maker's marks on this piece. It is of good weight and i n very usable and displayable condition. The p itcher has normal s cuffing and wear. A s is consistent with use and its age. There are a few areas of shallow denting. Circa 1900 Chinese champleve decorated brass box with hinged lid. The front and sides of the box have floral decorations in raised relief. The rounded top of the box has florals and flying insects in raised relief. With blues, red, and green enamel. The hinged lid on the inside is crudely soldered- perhaps an old repair; the lid and hinge are solid. The brass has a nice patina, with some oxidation- small white spots in several places on the brass. The box measures 3 inches(7.6 cm) by 2 3/8 inches(6 cm) and is 1 3/4 inches(4.4 cm) high. Hello and welcome to Orbrial's. Here we have a Mid Century snazzy styled Taylor Smith Taylor Ever Yours Coffee Pot With Lid in the Autumn Harvest Pattern. The pot is in superb condition. There are no chips. No cracks and there is no crazing. The glaze is still shiny there is no scratching to it. I also checked the spout very closely there is no chip on it. There is toning to the brass. There are some spots on the base you can see in the picture. From sitting on shelves or whatever. And I have an arrow in one photo pointing to a speck of some sort, probably stray paint. It is under the glaze. The bottom line is I don't see how it could be in any better condition. It measures about 10 ¾ tall by 9 inches wide over the handle and spout. I think it holds around 5 cups. Vintage Indian splint basket with lid This is one of several antique baskets from my mother's collection that she has decided to sell. In 2007 she took it to the Haffenraffer Museum of Anthropology in Bristol. RI to have the curator assess it. The information he provided is below, but he didn't say how old the basket was. Covered basket with original green stripes Made by Native Americans in New England. Likely Maine Varnish is not original Measurements- 12" diameter across the top; 9" high. The basket is has a beautiful weave and detailed lid and it's in excellent condition. The main ceramic background color is a light gray. There are three separate scenes designed and painted on the stein which denote aspects of German life. Miwok/Paiute Coiled Basket with Lid circa 1920's. This beautiful basket is an old Yosemite Field Days basket. Probably done by a mixed blood weaver of Miwok/Paiute or Miwok/Chukchansis Yokuts tribes. There are pictures of a couple of these in Craig Bates' book on Yosemite baskets"Tradition and Innovation" This one is probably from the 1920's and is superbly woven by a very experienced weaver with a tight and consistent weave. Very smooth curves and flat top and bottom, good symmetry of design and a very nice form. This form was often used by weavers during Yosemite Field Days competition. It measures 8 inches in diameter and 4 1/4 inches high. It has only a very random minor stitch loss else it is in near fine condition. It measures approximately 17 inches in diameter at its widest, 15 inches in height from base to the top of the lid plus another 8 inches to the top of the handles, 12 inch lid diameter, and 9 inch base diameter.
