Mauchline Hatchet Axe transfer of Home of Washington
This is a Mauchline Hatchet or Axe with a transfer of the Home of Washington. It is made of Cherry wood. In honor of George Washington and the Cheery tree. It was difficult to photograph the condition as the wood is so much darker than sycamore(I places a sycamore piece with is as an example to show color differences) The transfer has a white paint effect to it to better be seen on the darker wood. The words Home of Washington are above the transfer. There are no nicks or dings to the piece, the edge of the blade is fine. There is 1 small finish blemish on the back at the bottom of the blade. The white triangle appearance in the photo of the roof is actually the side of a window dormer and is not a blemish. This is a really unusual piece. I bought a Mauchline collection consisting of about 50 pieces about 25- 30 years ago from the estate ... moreof a woman who collected these in her travels along the eastern states. ANTIQUE 1810 ENGLISH TEA CUP & SAUCER w/CHILDREN & ANGEL IN BLACK TRANSFER
This sweet. Early teacup and saucer are in good condition for their age, with the only defect being a hairline on the saucer described previously in more detail. The saucer has the early deep shape without a recessed cup ring. The cup and it's handle have an earlier shape as well, used by a few of the potteries of that era. The shape of the handle on this teacup was a popular design of Coalport, Spode and Swansea, however, this particular piece is unmarked, which was not unusual during the very early part of the 19th century. The saucer measures 5 1/2" 14 cm) in diameter and 1 3/4" 3.2 cm) high(or deep) There are great scenes on either side of the cup. One side depicts a boy and girl playing cards and on the opposite side an angel floating in the clouds, maybe watching over the children. The image on the saucer depicts a seated ... moreboy on a Persian carpet, with a bowl and spoon by his side. His dog is sitting up and begging, while a young girl looks on. This set has a pinkish purple hand-painted luster sprigging and band around the inside rim of both the cup and saucer. This set is soft paste porcelain. There is also a faint beige color above the boys head on the saucer that is very hard see. The price of a cup and saucer set like this in perfect condition would run somewhere around $110.00, but is priced in this listing taking into account all defects. Vtg 40s Rare Aunt Martha Transfer 9180 Kitten Tea Towels DOW Designs
Vintage 1940s Aunt Martha Transfer 9180 Kitten Tea Towels Days of the Week Designs. Click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge This envelope on this vintage Aunt Martha pattern dates to the 1940s. There is a small hole and a little tear at the top. And the corners are bumped, but for 60+ years old, it's looking pretty good! The pattern is called"Kitten Tea Towels, and there is one design for each day of the week. These are the traditional designs with an activity that done on each day of the week. Monday finds the kittens hanging on the clothes line with the washing; the kittens are ready to tackle the ironing on Tuesday; on Wednesday the kittens are sewing; Thursday is market day; Friday's the day for cleaning the litterbox; the kittens get their baking done on Saturday; and on Sunday they rest. And they deserve it! These ... moredesigns are so cute and so charming. The transfer also includes a wonderful kitten face design to make a potholder for your kitchen. The designs have been cut apart and have most likely have been used. Some vintage transfers are good for multiple stampings(especially Aunt Martha) but may need the help of a modern transfer tracing pencil. The designs average 4" by 5" either vertically or horizontally orientation. Some are a little shy of 4" or 5" But that's the average. If you're looking for a shower gift for a bride-to-be. Blue Staffordshire Planter Vase - French Transfer
This is an antique blue Staffordshire planter/vase. French transfer. Stamp on bottom identifies the number 259. Measures: 6 1/4 in. tall 6 1/2 in. top diameter 4 3/4 in. base The images depict three different scenes of people on the countryside. This piece is in good condition. Clean, no crazing or chips. Unfortunately, there is a hairline crack almost unnoticeable on the side that runs from the rim to almost 3/4 of the way down and some faded spots on the golden trim.
