It shows some scuffing on the red, and weathering on the top edges of the gold where the sun and weather hit it. However, it looks nice! The Front can be removed for access to the internals. This is a handwritten letter signed by 19th century military leader and prohibition leader James Appleton. Appleton(1785-1862) served as Brigadier General during the War of 1812. Appleton was born in Ipswich. Massachusetts and worked as a silversmith and jeweler in Mablehead, Massachusetts. From 1830 until 1850 he worked as a jeweler in Portland, Maine. Appleton served in the state legislature in Massachusetts and Maine. He became known as the Father of Prohibition(with Neal Dow) and was a vocal anti-slavery advocate. The letter is written on a sheet of light blue paper 8x10 with a pen and comes with his signature on the bottom of the document. This is a vintage Motorcraft 28" x 13" x 5" plastic advertising hanging clock/sign. There are five 2 1/2" wide slots on the right side for displaying messages with letters. Also included is a bag of excess letters. Numbers& seasonal scenes. The sign has been plugged in and lights up. The clock doesn't seem to turn(I have not taken it apart to see what needs to be fixed) It is in great vintage condition, except for yellowing on the plastic from age. The E isn't quite as wide. So as it's pictured here it wouldn't quite be 11 1/2 feet long. And to be clear. The 3 individual letters are all that is included in this auction. It came from a Dodge dealership. It's an actual used signage piece. At some point it had neon inside and transparent faces that the light shone through. But it makes a good raw looking industrial piece as it is. Some of the letters have little dings and bending. But the back of the G is the worst, but it's not too noticeable from the front. It has other wear and imperfections that comes from being an actual used signage piece. But it could be painted inside and out, or left as-is. It adds up to enough size that I'll have to ship in 2 separate boxes. I'm using the postage calculator on this. And sometimes it charges too much for postage. Industrial Plastic Letter U Sign for Home Decor
This listing is for a large plastic letter U from a sign. It needs to be cleaned(I have cleaned off much of it already but it could use some more) This would look great hanging on a wall. It has a few scuffs here and there. But in general it is in good shape. Many of the marks visible in the U are reflections of trees and other things and not flaws. It's made of solid aluminum with a gold colored coating and has 3 threaded holes with 3 studs sticking out of the back that can be removed. And I will remove them for shipping. It has some scuffs scratches. But would be a pretty simple project to repaint the color of your choice, or left as it is. It's lightweight. But very sturdy. I'm using the postage calculator on this. And sometimes it charges too much for postage. If you win, expect to pay whatever it states in the auction, and after it's shipped I will try to catch it if there is a substantial difference.
