Vintage Deco Style Dresser Chest Converted Store Display Drawers Shelves Mirror
My client purchased this when it was a vintage store display; and then converted it to an art deco creation- 3 drawer dresser with 6 unique glass and wood side display. Or storage shelves; and a curved and shaped marble top. Not sure if the top is marble or faux marble, but it looks terrific. The mirror is a custom addition to the piece(it was not part of the piece originally) and makes the whole look have an art deco vibe. The mirror sits on top the dresser, but I don't think it is a fixed or attached piece. Not sure of the age of the dresser drawers or the mirror. The chest is 5 feet long! 37 inches tall(without the mirror) and 26 inches deep. The mirror is 43 inches tall and 32 inches wide. Record storage in the bottom, a small“catch-all” upper shelf, and 2 pop-up shelves(one on each side) The cart is mounted on 4 rolling casters, and the whole package is in strong& sturdy working condition. Approximate date is late 1970’s to early 1980’s. The cart is in really great condition. The bulk of it is made of thick solid steel bar. With hollow square-bar legs and a wooden top(the bottom front brace is also wood) There is no rust or oxidation anywhere on the cart. All of the metal is straight and true, and all four plastic casters roll freely with no chips, cracks or flat spots. The tabletop has a few light scuffs and scratches, which are really the only real sign of use– please see the photos above to know that this is minor, and ... moreit will most likely be covered by your record player or stereo and therefore unseen. The LP storage rack on the bottom holds about 60 standard LPs(the 3 slots hold about 20 records each) The shelf is strong and shows no evidence of sagging when full. Perfect for storing headphones, record supplies or other media– judging by the dimensions of this shelf, it may have been intended to hold 8-track tapes(they fit perfectly) The grooviest feature of this stereo cart is the flip-up shelves on each side. Cannot say for sure that these are Ikea-resemble them though. Warm. Medium stain-wood-toned over MDF. Finish in very nice shape though there is some fading, surface scratches. One strip section on side of base is missing the veneer. Sturdy. Hutch and backing on entertainment center have been detached. With them/it. Up to a 40" tv space possible. Without them, something much larger*we used without. The base is approx. 15 7/8" height, 42.25" width and 23 5/8" depth. The hutch part independent of the base has an approx. measurement of 42.5" height x 42 1/8" width x 15 3/4"depth. True height would be both heights added together. The base has four shelves.
