They are carved wood, with the shelf on top, the bottom section is carved with swirls, picket fence type section, and some of the pieces are black. There are holes on each piece, to hang on the wall, and they measure 15 1/2" tall and the sides are a little over 10 inches at the shelf part. These old pieces are still useable, but they do have some age wear and tear. One of the shelves has a split that goes through to the back. They both have a repair at the top of the shelf near the hanging hole, one shelf has two holes, one must have split so they made another on the other side. There is the usual age patina and wear to the tops of the shelves, and there are some chips on the edge of the shelf, that could be touched up. This is an architectural salvage product that came from an old shoe factory in Chicago. Probably 120 years old. The cart is made of wood and has wheels on each foot. Size is 4 feet long, 14" wide and 52" tall. There are 5 shelves. Perfect for books. Collectibles, whatever you want to put on your shelves. This is pick up only in the Chicago Suburb of Oak Park.
