Vermont Castings Warming Shelves Aprons. This is a pair of porcelain coated Vermont Castings Warming Shelves. They are not perfect. They have some nicks, chips and missing porcelain that shows up pretty well in the pictures, they are a greyish blue in color. They also could be sanded and repainted any color you wish. On one of the braces or brackets there is a small piece that is broken off, I am pointing to it in one of the pictures. I do not know if this will affect the support or not. I do not know what model stove these are made for, but I think it was either the Encore Defiant Resolute or Vigilant they measure about 7 inches by 13 3/4 inches. For sale is a 5 shelves erector parts box in a solid wood box-probably from the 1920's or 1930's. I counted about 350 pieces not including the nuts and screws. The shelves fit perfectly in the box which assures me it was made for the parts or custom built. Three of the shelves have little wooden handles to hold while lowering the shelf in the box. A couple of the small wooden pieces are missing. But it is very easy to remove and insert the shelves. It looks like the parts are of Meccano derivation. It has many unusual gears. Worm gears,propeller and wheels from the. 20's. Large wide silver and green girders are uncommon and straight. There are axles. Wheels and couplings. The box is solid with draws that have compartments the proper length for the large girders. Collectors box Will be sent by parcel post or Fed Ex if less expensive. ... moreCase weighs about 18 lbs. It will be wrapped with cardboard.Bubble wrap and peanuts to assure safe delivery. Many of the large girders are in good condition but some parts have a little rust.I've taken 12 good close up pictures of the parts. Note: by accident the same propeller. Cork and small bundle of ties was put into both pictures 3 and 6. There is only one of each item in set. This is a very nice collection that maybe 80 or 90 years old. This piece is large and very heavy. 80 inches in height to the crown, 24 1/2 deep with crown measuring 28 inches deep, 36 inches wide with crown measuring 42 1/2 wide. Lots of storage with the shelves. They measure 22 inches deep.the top shelf is 19 1/2 inches high to top of inside cup board, the second and third measure 16 inches high and the bottom can store items 24 inches high. I would guess circa late 1890's early 1900's. Under the the working lock and key there may have been a heavy lock installed at one time which left holes that have been filled and finished. Small Vintage Wooden Curio Shelves - Charming and Walnut?
These are charming small shelves that I used for many years for my knickknacks. The overall dimensions are about 10 inches by 12 inches. The depth of the shelves varies from about 1 inch deep to about 3 inches deep. I am not sure of the wood. I think maybe walnut, based on the fineness of the grain on one of the side pieces, but I am not exactly sure. I have had these shelves about 30 years or so and run a nonsmoking household.
