This washstand has a white and gray marble top and backsplash. The marble is smooth to the touch. There are some discolored spots and some surface scratches. The top front edge of the backsplash has very small“flea bite” size chips. The base has a drawer with dovetail joints over 2 doors for storage. There are splits in the panel inserts of each door. There are small chips in the veneer around the edges of the bottom piece below the doors. This piece is in overall nice condition for a piece of this age. This is a handmade mahogany Chippendale cabinet bookcase. There are three shelves total at the top. Two are not pictured. The dimensions are 104" H by 18 1/2" deep by 53 1/2" across. Very striking. Two doors in lower section. All hand planed. The panels at the back are hand planed as well. Never refinished. The color is dark. The pictures do not do justice to this item. The color is much better than the pictures indicate. And the mutens are large and beautifully sculptured as well as being glazed in on the back. The glass is wavy with bubbles. This box is in excellent condition with no missing or broken parts. It retains the original hardware which is ebony and brass. The knobs have brass back plates and brass stars in the middle of the knob which is very rare. Each draw opens and shuts very smoothly and they are put together with finger joints and each draw is clean with slight marks due to being used for over a 100 years! The 2-piece Marquetry inlaid Rosewood Ladys Desk or Vanity in this auction is a fine example of what Alexander Roux was designing and making for the new affluent American Victorian Market. Underneath the inside small draw in the original Alexander Roux New York Label, which was printed between 1848 and 1867 when cabinet shop worked at this location. Decorated with gilded ormolu this small Victorian Louis XVI style vanity measures 17 ¼ deep by 28 1/8 wide by 28 1/8 tall and with the top section measures 48 tall overall. We have posted close to 40 photographs of this rare Roux vanity so you can see all the details and the few restorable problems. On the table top are two damages to the rosewood veneer. A past owner has partially restored these areas. There also is some fine edge damage to the veneer on the bottom of the main draw and the sides. Title: Monumental Cabinet Attributed to Giuseppe Terragni Monumental and important cabinet attributed to Giuseppe Terragni from the Novecento Italiano period. Six solid glass columns are spaced equally along the front of the cabinet with two glass columns in the rear. All supporting over ten feet of cabinetry. Each glass column is wrapped with thin round wood rods, giving each column the appearance of fasces lictoriae. Between each column are five(5) inwardly bowed, concave doors with a geometric pattern on each door front. The cabinet doors have no visible hardware; door pulls are carved into a curved recess on both sides of each door. Two outer doors open to reveal three(3) finely crafted sliding drawers, with recessed, carved circular knobs. JELLY CABINET, CUPBOARD SOUTHERN POPLAR
Offered is an genuine antique jelly cabinet from North Carolina. This is a country piece made from poplar and secondary wood is southern yellow pine. It was handmade probably around 1850 to 1890. It shows hand done scribe lines. Old square cut nails, handmade dovetails, chamfered floating panels, hand cut mortise and tenon joints and some of the lumber are very wide, unlike what was available later. I have owned this jelly cabinet for about twenty years. I purchased it in Advance N.C. My guess is that it may have had an upper piece set back on the the top, which allowed the maker to use less than prime lumber on the top. I found it useful for just storing items, which basically is what it was used for originally. So if you want a piece that offers a country look in your new modern home, this could be just the right item. Everything appears ... moreto be original, hinges, door closures, drawer pulls and even an old mouse hole in the back. Powder post beetles made their home in this piece, but I have never seen any since I've owned it. The cabinet is sturdy, holds lots of weight, not flimsy at all. Vintage Antique Wood & Glass Kitchen China Cabinet 80" x 56" x 16"
Brown Wood Kitchen China Cabinet Cabinet is in fantastic condition for its age. Its been in my grandmother's kitchen since the 1947 when she was married! Where it was before that or when exactly it was made I do not know. The wood is in fantastic condition. The bottom piece has some minor scratches and markings on the top section of the doors and drawer(from her kids and their toys) But the piece still looks great. There are no visible eyesores like scratches or chips on the top piece. There are a few tiny nicks and marks throughout the entire cabinet. But nothing that will detract from its overall showmanship. The glass is clean and still tight inside the top and doors. The only real problem is a stain inside the bottom drawer that looks like paint. I di my best to show everything in the photos. But if you'd like to see more just ... moreask. I'm starting this auction low. I hope someone can enjoy it like my grandmother did. I've got nobody to give it to. And I can't see throwing it out. Here is a vintage hanging wooden spool holder/ sewing cabinet drawers. There are three drawers at the top for stowing away needles. Buttons zippers or what not’s. The bottom has three spool holing shelves which will accommodate 32 spools of thread. There is a hanging hole at the top. This is a cute primitive addition to your sewing room or area. Construction is of solid wood and what appears to be a plywood back, the cabinet remains sturdy and without movement.
