Vintage Weatherhead Parts Bin Display Cabinet This is a vintage small parts storage bin cabinet box made for Weatherhead products. The cabinet has 20 drawers that are original to the cabinet. Along with the original drawer divider tabs that are marked Weatherhead and have the part or a place to write what part goes where. All of the drawers on in okay condition. They need cleaned. They have sticker residue and cloudiness to them, and some writing. The storage cabinet is in original condition- no repainting on it. Although most of the paint is gone. It is mostly on the blank sides, although the front bottom is faded. The top has a small dent, but I would assume this could probably be bent back. It didn't affect the opening and closing of the drawers for me. It measures 16 1/2" from side to side, 11" tall, and 6 1/2" front ... moreto back. There are holes in the back to wall hand it.

I believe this unit came out of a old cable company truck or TV shop. There are minor stress cracks in the front corners of the base. Probably from bouncing around is a service vehicle. I am offering for sale an antique ice pick. It is quite heavy and measures 8" in length. Unfortunately. The end of the pick is broken off. The handle reads on one side: Carthage Ice& Cold Storage Co. and on the other side: Phone- 19- Carthage, Mo. I could not find another item like this. But did find information indicating that the Carthage Ice& Cold Storage Co. was a going concern in Carthage, Missouri in the 1880s and thereafter. I also tried to research when telephone service was first established in Carthage, but could find nothing definitive. It appears that it was begun sometime in the late 1880s-early 1890s.

The exterior is painted silver and has signs of wear and some rusty spots. They are marked with DOD numbers which I assume are Department of Defense and"Delicate Instrument" They could use a good coat of paint but are completely sound. The interiors are painted green and have slotted rails that could be used to hold padding needed for specific instruments or equipment. This not only makes a terrific display. It can certainly be used for storage. The lid fits nicely, and notice that the knob is red rather than white- a nice look! It measures about 12 1/2" ... morehigh(not including knob) x 8 1/2" diameter. The hand-painted aster design is in fabulous condition. And there are expected scratches on the red typical for age and use. The inside has scattered corrosion that will most likely come off with the right products, if desired.
