This old glass trinket box might have been a powder box originally. The thick glass body is ornately designed with chevron swirls and a striped body. Antique Mans Collar Box Unique Lid Brass Metal Ornate Storage Restore
Antique Women's Hat? Mans Collar Box. I think this was used for the feather headbands but I am not sure. I was told it is for the mens collars and the box on top held their pins. This is a unique box as it has a very ornate little storage area on top. It is a scroll design and appears to be a brass lid. It measures 2 1/2 inches long and is 1 1/2 inches wide and 1/4 inch deep. I found a ticket inside that say's Section B Row 7. Box measures 5 inches tall from top of the lid to bottom and is 6 inches across and 3 inches deep around the inner edge. There is a round area in the middle inside that is 4 inches deep and 3 inches across, maybe to keep hair or hat pins? Box is a cardboard material with a cloth covered outer. The interior box for smoking articles features a brass lining and a ledge on the inside of the door. It is engraved with spots for the brass smokers' accessories that fit in those spots.
